What system do you think they'll use in FF12? Post your thoughts and what you would like to see in FF12.

I just hope its not like Final Fantasy 8 or a sphere system. The sphere system was ok, but the only downfall is I felt like I spent more time useing my ap points then I did playing the game. I mean almost every battle you would get at least 1 chairactor get 1 point.
I think the best was either 7 or 9's cause yoiu didn't have to spend so much time figureing out what you wanted to do with it. I mean on 8 you had to spend forever sucking magic from creatures it seems like.
I want the system like FFVI,is very exciting to use the magic from esper ability:)
It might be old,but still good enough to play it

What is the Esper system? sorry I havent played VI. Im trying to get my hands on a copy of FF Anthology though. Does anyone know where I can get one? If not I guess I can wait for the GBA release :)
[EDIT] Oops I forgot I have to make this post relevant :) I really dont like any of the systems to tell the truth. The only one I really like is the system where you get a spell at a certain level (FFIV) but that is too boring. I guess would like a modification of the Job System. I like the idea of characters changing classes. My second RPG I played was Pokemon(evolving) so thats probably why.

I heard that you learn magics in FFXI by buying scrolls and learning them at the required level and the more you use your skills the stronger they become just like the weapons. Does anyone know if this is true or are they using a differen't system?

actually you learn your magic quite similar to dark age of camelot. scrolls? where the hell did you come up with that?

I read it off somewhere but I don't think it was a valid source that's why I asked.

Next time you get information, get your source checked as well. :)
Anyway, I would like to see a modified esper system. Would be cool to see so many 'summons' Esper return and learn magic really quick, ofcourse they should modify it to allow more then one esper on a character now, since that was kinda cheap.
The scroll things is a nice add, but that would make the magic system somewhat different then usual, Since you have to find the scrolls or buy them in magic stores. Kinda like how Lufia II works..

i actually broke my lufia 2 cartridge cause of that. yea i dunno the esper system was pretty cool.

I love the job system, so i voted that just to give me some hope. But i think they're using a modified job system in FF11 aren't they? Anyway, i've never played FF6 (but i do have FF9, that's kinda similar isn't it?) so if someone has an english version could they e-mail it to me at
[email protected]. Thanks
Call me old, but i liked it when you had to buy your magic. Like in the first Final Fantasy and maybe with the materia idea again.

id like 2 see a modified materia system
mebbe the materia could gain new spells or move as the character gains more aps
for example... in ff7... the summon materia could only do one move like ifrit only being able to use hell blaze
mebbe in ff12 they could put in an ifrit with a different magic and allow it to gain new ones and the player can choose which move they want...

I believe a combo of Job, Materia, and maybe a little sphere board thrown in for fun would work real nice. You pick jobs, certain materias work for certain jobs, and universal skills are learned via sqhere

I'd like a mix of a job system and materia too!
like, your characters have different jobs, and you can buy all sorts of materia, but most materia only works with certain jobs...
eg. Black mage - Black materia - has magic in it
Warrior - Red materia - has extra moves like deathblow in it (i loved the deathblow materia in 7)
White mage - White materia - Holy and curative magic
Animal tamer - Yellow materia - call animal, a pre-tamed animal enters the battle.
Blue mage - Blue materia - only one type of blue materia but it's widely available (enemy skill!!!)
Temptress - pink materia - spells that infatuate the enemy, then kill it.
see what i mean?
oooooooooooh, might use this in my own game...
