Nope. That is the North American release date. I'm not sure if the European date has been verified yet.

Apparently the UK's not getting Final Fantasy III until Q1 2007. Sorry about that. :-(
Anyway, I can't wait for this game. I even went and preordered it (a first since I usually don't get an FF game until it's been out for a couple years at least). It looks great, and I need to start playing the Famicom version to warm up for this version of the game.

They're the same game. Playing the FF3(j) ROM will probably reduce your enjoyment of the game, because it won't have the surprise factor of figuring out what to do next.
I mean, there's no point in playing FF games for the (non-existent) gameplay.

Actually, since the main aspect that Square-Enix seems to have focused on when developing this remake is nostalgia, I would imagine that people who have actually played the game in years previous would probably get more out of the game than those who haven't. From what I’ve seen on other forums, people are more excited about seeing all of they’re favorite jobs/characters in 3D then they are anything else.
Although playing the original right before you buy the remake would kind of defeat the point...

I already played through the Famicom version, I meant that I'd be playing through it again.
If there's no point in playing FF for the gameplay, then what in the world are you gonna play it for? The music? The story? Hell, neither of those things in FF3 are that great. I play an FF game for the gameplay. Screw the story. There. I said it. :-P
Wow. Are you ever barking up the wrong tree. Almost none of the FF games have had anything more than passable gameplay, especially compared to modern games.

Thing I'm annoyed about is that you guys act like I said it had the best gameplay or something (uh, that honor would go to Star Ocean 2 or Breath of Fire 4). Hell, the games barely even have decent stories (except for maybe 6), and you want me to play them for that type of thing?
If I'm gonna play a game for the story I might as well open a book and read it.
Who is "you guys?" From what I've seen, no one said anything that even remotely implied that.
Also, agreeing with you about reading a book if you want a good story.

Well, the way you and Raidenex responded you acted like I said FF games had the best gameplay ever (by the tone of your posts I mean, you didn't actually say that I thought that but you acted like I did). I just said I don't play for the story and instead play for the gameplay. Don't see what's so wrong about that. :-\
Oh, I'm just pointing out that there are lots of games with better gameplay and wondering why you don't want to play them instead.

I just paid off the strategy guide as well so I'll be able to pick up everything I need as soon as it comes out. Too bad it's releasing so close to the Wii though.

I'm looking foward to this game alot. I've just downloaded the OST! If this game was just another port to the GBA, I wouldn't have gotten it.

Man, I have been in the dark for too long. So, FF3 is going to be out... Question, is there a web site or place that I can go to learn about all the FF games? I love FFX and X-2, and I've played some of 7, but that's about as far as my FF knowlage goes. Please Help!!!
