According to this (
http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/business/285027_nintendo14.html) source, it will be Nov. 19 and $250. Also of note is the 25-30 launch titles, bigger than average (I think?) and definitley healthy. They also say that "Nintendo intends to charge $50 for its Wii games, $10 less than the standard price for Xbox 360 titles and the same price generally charged for GameCube games," which is really good news.
However, I don't know how accurate the source is. I guess we'll have to wait for nintendo's official announcement today to know!
EDIT
Confirmed via IGN's article (
http://wii.ign.com/articles/732/732669p1.html) (assuming you trust IGN - they cite the New York Times as their source so you also have to trust them). Other things to note - Wii Sports will be bundled with the console, and it'll ship right out of the box with Opera (further proof that Opera > firefox am I right), and there are 8x as many Wiis being produced as PS3s. Lol gg sony

The release date is disappointing, especially with what I was told. I don't know why Nintendo is waiting so long to release it when they could do so a few weeks earlier.
The price point is right on the money considering everything that's packaged in with it. I figured it would cost $200 with just the console, controller, etc. But I knew they would most likely bundle in Wii sports with it, so the higher price point isn't that bad. I'm pleased to see that the Wii games will cost $50 and not rise up to 60-70 like some PS3 and 360 games will, so that's an advantage.
I don't know, I still don't understand the release date, if this is all to be believed. =/

The price is still 50$ too espensive, even with Wii sports included.
And same goes for 50$/game.
Dont really get the launch date myself, its as if they made a deal with Sony to cut them some slack or some shit.. i dunno.
Japanese price is 25000 yen. That's less than 250 dollars, but I'm sure when they make the US price they'll round up.
Some of that makes absolutely no sense, so I'm not regarding it with any real credibility yet. I'll wait until I see an official statement from Nintendo before I take anything seriously.
November 19th is my 21st birthday.

OBVIOUSLY A SIGN THAT YOU CAN START GETTING DRUNK
DRUNK OFF WII
this (
http://www.forbes.com/technology/feeds/afx/2006/09/14/afx3016278.html) from forbes says a Dec 2 price date... which coincides with what Gamespot (
http://www.gamespot.com/news/6157575.html?tag=topslot;action;1) says about Nintendo's press release - Dec 2 being the release date in Japan, with Nov 19 being the release date here. Also of note is the Nunchuk being included in the box, apparently, and only one color (white). "9:33 am: And the final Wii Sports lineup is...tennis, golf, baseball, bowling, and boxing?! That's new. This should be interesting."
I happen to trust gamespot (and ign) so I'll go with that.
