Hi !
I'm looking forward to find this soundtrack. I already tried to get it from the game itself by extracting the music files in the .pak file, but it appeared it was .adp format and no program was able to "read" it as a music file.
If anyone knows to convert these files, or to recover the ost from a site, please let me know !
Thanks !
bump, looking for this soundtrack too :)
If you could do me the favor, upload those files packed in some archive like .zip or rar and dump it on savefile or any other share site. I might be able to figure the right settings with audacity to play the music and convert to wav/mp3

yeahhh ;D
Me too
I assume i'm in the same situation as most, i have the SoF1 game, and all the music in ".adp" ><
Now idea how to extract this, or play this, but damn i want it ._.
If i have no luck, i guess i might just do some line-in recording -_-;
Don't realllly want to, but... eh, it'll give me something to do
Unless someone else has already done so? xD

So, do you people want a RIP?
I've currently done the first 6 tracks, combat music, and the normal ambience NON-COMBAT music, i'm recording through the line in, sounds perfect... I've added a TINY bit of fade-in to make it sound a bit softer when it starts, and it fades out at appropriate points, trying to rip ALL music, cinematic and everything...
I'm not gonna upload unless people DO want this, because it'd be a waste of time otherwise x]
I don't think there is a way to extract/play the music/sound files, looked for ages, tried many things, nothing's worked...
so i resorted to line-in, and tbh it sounds exactly as it does in the game ;D
So if this IS what people are looking for, please let me know, and i shall upload when done... won't upload till i'm satisfied. But if someone wants me to post a sample, one mp3... i will ^^
Well, hope this is what you guys are looking for, coz it'll be my first upload onto the internet, fullstop xD
...Peace

However, I've just found this, reminded that I tried to convert those .ADPs too a few years ago. I have not yet checked that method (and probably won't, as I don't have the SoF files anywhere nearby right now :)), but I will keep it in mind.
Hum, considering Avira's reaction seconds ago, perhaps I won't try that method, after all. Not outside a sandbox, anyway...

xD i was on that site MINUTES ago...
Didn't work at all for me, hence i'm recording through the line-in now x]
Going very well ;D
18tracks so far, 32mins...
But if someone else has a rip, an OST (if one exists, which i doubt) or has extracted the sound files. PLEASE let me know, and put me out of my misery ><'

And I still have yet to see anyone remotely interested in this rip i'm taking hours to do x]
Oh well, i'm mainly doing it for me anyway ^^
eh lol... omfg
I just started doing it today too, lucidolph @_@
EXACTLY like you are doing it. Adding fade-in/out, every cinematic and stuff. omfg. ^^
I'm at lvl5 iraq base right now on Effortless Difficulty. Trying to rush through... what's weird is that I get sick just playing SOF through. Somehow, the graphics are affecting me a lot more than any other game I played @_@
I got the music on .ogg - but I am by no means an expert.
some 21 pieces atm.
edit:
are you some kind of evil twin?!
Rly, I just said to myself before: today I start ripping SOF, after some 12 years of wait or some crap.

Ahahahahaaa... wow, glad to see someone else is doing so ;D
Well, I WAS doing it, and it WAS going fine... untill i realized i was recording in MONO -___-'''
But NOW i know how to do stereo lol, it was my first time ^^'
I hope YOU are recording in stereo anyway, and you're further than me xD
I kinda stopped after i realized i'd have to re-do all my hard work, so i think i'll leave this one to you for now, and if i think your recordings aren't good enough, THEN i will continue MINE x]]]
Hope it goes well =D
for everyone's sake... this is a MUST-HAVE and i didn't realize how good the music was, when u turn off SFX it just sounds so much.. erm, better x]
Like on the train level, phwaarrr ;D that's some damn fine listening,
Well, best of luck ^^
Oh >>' and, evil twin? mayyyybeee ^^
Edit: ...Huh, out POST count, verrry close and if we ARE twins, then i'm definately the evil one ;3
hehe ;)
yeah stereo.
How this sounds? (trainlvl)

Sounds same as mine, cept stereo xD
Yepp, i like ^^, and i thought u said u did 'fade out' lol...
Just that THIS track didn't is all, and it seemed to end quite abruptley, when i play these tracks in a playlist, i'd like it to be smoooooothe ;D
But if u don't intend to fade THIS track, or have other plans or whatever, which i'm not happy with, then i'll just edit it x] so, no big deal...
and... u said u were recording through the line-in, erm, what program are u using to record, and how'd u get it in .ogg format,
and finally, why'd you name the file like THAT... is that just how you decided to name it? or did u get that track name from somewhere? coz it sounds about right x]
good luck ;D
and good job
I made up the names. I just decided to make it look all blinky and kinky with the underscore symbols ^^. Trainrush just sounds like the right name for this freaky track we like.
I can add fade out. I forgot to do it on a few :).
I used Audacity, free/gnu/open source sound editing program (Gods bless Source Forge). Ah my bad about line-in, I am not really into the terms. I simply set my window's sound output just to stereo - having the others like mic marked off.
Audacity can also export to mp3 and wave. I can do it at the end.
edit:
I wish I had my old savegames hehe.
I am currently doing Sudan. Almost thru.
Any tracks I should give extra length to?
I do several up to some 2mins recording.
I need to figure how I can equalize the sound. Some are low. others hit high db ^^

ah.. well, you're doing the same as me, same way of recording, and same program... erm, on ANY track, if u zoom in enough on the waves u can see there's a TINY section that's just a straight line.. so, no sounds plays there, and THAT is when it loops, so i record for a good 5mins, go into it, listen, and if i can here the loop, i'll stop it, zoom in on the wave and see JUST where the tracks starts. and i'll loops it 2-3times, depending on length, really i aim for the tracks to be 2mins, there abouts... just make sure there's SOME fade in and SOME fade out, just enough to make it so that when the tracks change, or loops, that it doesn't sounds all "jagged" if you know what i mean x]
and as for equalizing, not sureeee...
I just get the whole track, and click amplify, and it makes it as loud as it can go, without any loss of quality, if u do that to all tracks, they should be roughly the same volume throughout...
i'm no pro, but i hope i have helped u out with this anyway, i'm currently recording other tracks from other games now, which no-one's got online anywhere, and there's a LOT of them i can do xD
really old games... so i'll let YOU take care of THIS one, just... don't rush it, only upload when u feel like it's DONE... when ur satisfied, and make sure u give'em all a thorough listen through to make sure there's no ... erm, i dunno xD no problems i guess x]
Hope it goes welll.... ;D
Yeah, especially those old games are killers. I cant believe this one is has been such an underdog for ages.
Here's the dl link containing the full "OST".
http://www.sendspace.com/file/l4lsh6
Shit, I think there are several other games I'd love to have.
Take Top Gun: Fire at Will for example. I was able to open the music files via Audacity, but there's this annoying static :/.
Wetlands is also a neat oldie. I cracked that one too, but didn't do clean rips and dedication like here for SOF. Oh well, we'ell see.
Now go and share this thing!

i think u should post this in the "Download Links" section ;D
I'll leave that up to you, don't wanna be stealing any cred ;P
Oh >< and i was going through "Game Music Hall" lol!
That's were i found your upload, and left u a lovely little comment ^^
Still DLing it now, 53%, hope it's goood ;D
And when i say old game... i mean, DOS game, SegaSaturn games, old PSX games, i have a few 5+ rips that no-one's got anywhere, but i dunno if people want'em xD
Will upload them in my 'old games' thread i'm gonna make for some reason ;D, laaaater x]
Go ahead dude :D. Nevermind credit and stuff. This OST has been friggin' long overdue. There surely were people who had done it to a point but lost interest (plus me, I actually had lousy wavs from iraq/hannover music).
Looking forward to that old games thread ;D
edit: Got your name it too :) now

hahaa xD cool, thanks for the cred ^^
Also, i'm doing my own rip of it, to the way I'd like it x]
not saying yours wasn't good xD but i'm picky with music and things like that, so i'm gonna continue doing mine, and i'll take a good 3-5days more to finish it, just wanna make sure i do it right...
just don't take offense x]
I'm in no rush, so i'll only released this when it's PERFECT, all i ask for is your permission to use the same filenames as you made, coz i really like'em ^^'
and i'm gonna be releasing this rip in 320kbps MP3.
and yeah, that old games thread will be damn sexy ;D if u like the really old, charming, midi-sort tunes ;3
EDIT: Just added to the 'Download Links' section ^^ hope i did it right xD
