I don't understand how so many people can enjoy the Gran Turismo games. They are very insipid ;(

I have my own opinion, so there's a few games that I would take out and a few games that I would add to the list.

* Shadow of the Colossus should be higher.
* And where the hell is We Love Katamari?
* Guitar Hero? Don't make me laugh!
* The GTA's should rank: Vice City > III > San Andreas

Why take off DQVIII though? It's one of the best (pseudo) RPGs for the ps2.

FFX wasn't that good of a game if you look at it. It's flawed in several ways. The only thing it has going for it is its cut-scenes.

It might have been enjoyable, but it doesn't rank among the top 20 best PS2 games.

The Suikoden games were good. I'd have to list them on mine as well.

I think Resident Evil 4, FFX, Dragon Quest and Metal Gear Solid 2 all belong in there and maybe Ratchet and Clank, God of War and Shadow of the Colossus. I don't agree that the GTA games are contenders for the top 20; maybe III but definitely not San Andreas.

I really enjoyed Tales of the Abyss.

God of War, while I thoroughly enjoyed the game, wasn'y a good game. It was very repetative and the controls were clunky.

RE 4 wasn't all that great. It was fun at first, but then bored me.

Already stated my opinion on FFX.

DQ was decent, but nothing special.


And ICO, as Django mentioned, was an enjoyable game. Just didn't impress me that much.

I played God of War. I played through the game and I'm looking forward to the sequel. I really liked that game, just not one of the top 20 games for the PS2.

You are out of your mind SA had much more of everything than VC & III. SA had customization better cars heat seeking missiles, first flyable jet planes not to mention a better story imho. Let's compare GTA: III- young Tommy Vercetti no purpose just mindlessly doing tasks, just looking for work and somehow ends up on top. GTA:VC older Tommy Vercetti gets screwed tries to make money back for Sonny gets betrayed and fights 'best friend', too much of a Scarface rip-off. GTA:SA Carl Johnson comes back home to bury his mom and ends up taking back the territory that was rightfully his. In my opinion VC had some of the greatest songs but SA was a better all around game.

let me see. the list is based off the score it got on ign. that makes me wanna take it just a bit less seriously. (since the score was given upon review, the day it was reviewd/releaseed meaning it wasn't compared to any other game after its review ever) that's why you got a lot of the same in there and in wierd orders.

for you people that have trouble accepting lists. its ok, you don't have to take this one seriously. its just based on scores. i bet even ign would switch things around if they decided to maybe make a "greatest of all time for ps2" or something like that.

The GTA games lost their charm after the first one. After that it became another Postal with improved graphics. Only reason Postal was better was the fact that you could piss on someone as they were being burned to death.

And GTA:SA had a lot more than the other GTA games. Tons of shitty plot, terrible dialogue which included non-stop nigger speech, and there was too much retardation dealing with the whole "Turf" aspect. It was a total shitfest on all accounts.

Out of your mind, the turf was a good add-on, I'm guessing you were killed a lot. Even if you were partial to the speech that doesn't change the fact that GTA:SA destroyed it's predecessors. As far as your shitfest all around ou couldn't be anymore wrong. No other GTA: provided customization, as many vehicles, weapons, coversation between and with NPCs, not to mention the whole girlfriend thing.

If I wanted all that extra stuff you mentioned, I'd play VTM. None of that crap belongs in a GTA game. It destroyed the feel of the other GTA games since 3.

Initial D is very popular throughout Asia. Not sure about Wangan Midnight, but I know it's more popular than Kaido Battle.

Then again, I hardly played any of the games on the list, and I don't like the GTA series.

The PS2's had a lot of trouble producing anything other than stale remakes. My top would be: FFX-2, Burnout Revenge, Katamari Damacy, We Love Katamari (what's better than japanese shit?), GTA:VC (none of that working out shit, I just wanna play the game. No RPG style shit in a shooter. And plus KChat/VCPR is hilarious.), GUN (Mabye, mabye not. Pretty fun game), and God of War.

That was a great list I like almost every game on there except for the sports games.

take out all of the GTA( its just sensless midless juvinial vilence with no point) get rid of all the sports/tony hawk games. (if you whant to play sports then do it in the real world: cuz yes... there is this thing called outside.) then move up shadow of collossus, and add RE4, ZOE 2 and the kindom heart series.

Oh I get it he means the whole gamers have no lives and play inside all day. Why don't you try to stick up a store and shoot as many people as possible. The games you just gave are very realistc they allow you to do what couldn't do in the real world, ie shoot a cop and get away with, it or run a tuochdown with TO ,or just shoot from half-court with Lebron James. They give a sense of unrealistic reality.

And Resident Evil4 should be in the top 100 maybe, but not the top 20.
It was better than all other resi evils but certainly not an outstanding game.
