Well until recently I have not even bothered thinking about the older final fantasy's and i was wondering if someone could help me find how to get them because I hear thatyou can buy them in packs of 2 like Anthology , Origins , and Chronicles. Can somebody tell me which final fantasy's are in each set thanks.

The North American release includes the games Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy VI, while the European release includes Final Fantasy IV and Final Fantasy V.
Both right, then.

To put all the necessary info in one semi easy-to-read post:
FF Origins would be FFI and FFII.
FFIII isn't yet out.
FFIV and Chrono Trigger are in FF Chronicles.
FF Anthology is FFV and FFVI
Hopefully that helps.
You may know this, but there is gonna be a 3D remake of FF 3 on DS.

good job CyanCyde!
Add-on--> FFIII is being released on the Nintendo DS, also, FFVI is being re-released for the Game Boy Advanced later this year. aside from FFI and FFII being revamped for PSX (Origins), they have also been released as GBA versions, titled: Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls.

FFV is also being re-released for the GBA also at the same time, but it won't be until freakin' December until they come out, according to GameStop.

My apologies for not giving handheld details. I'm not much into the handheld scene, so naturally, I wouldn't be as knowledgeable. I did know about the FFIII remake, though. And Dawn of Souls.

If you have a Nintendo handheld, definitely get those versions. The PSX versions are basically just ports of the original games, with maybe a few additions, while the GBA versions are totally redone with better graphics, sound, and including all-new bonus dungeons, quests, characters, and more. It's definitely worth it, since they're both probably the same price.

Indeed.
FFIV Advance is the best version of the three that I've played, and I really enjoyed Dawn of Souls. Since most people don't import games, FFIII DS should be awesome since the Japanese market says its a wonderful game. Plus, I have high hopes for FFVI Advance, considering how well the first two GBA remakes were.
Agreeing with TB. The only thing the PSX versions have that the GBA games don't is a couple of flashy FMVs that the games never needed in the first place. The load times on them are so horrible that I would never recommend paying money for them. Hell, that's the reason I never finished FFVI. I picked it up for PSX, but the load times were too extreme for me.
You can still try the original game on an emulation Prak. I know its not the same as playing it on a console but you can give it a try

Read the thread before you post. That was already addressed. The European version of Anthologies had FFIV and FFV.

I enjoyed Dawn of Souls, but I was sort of angry that they totally redid FFI's magic system, along with several of the things that made the game challenging. After those changes, the game wasn't nearly difficult enough. That said, I wasn't at all surprised, but the fact that you could buy ethers, and ACTUALLY refill your MP in the middle of a dungeon, the fact that you could buy phoenix downs, and the fact that you could use magic spells upwards of 10 times easily before running out of MP took out the one thing FFI had that the other FFs I've played didn't: a challenge.

unless you feel like doing this is hurting the experience of playing the orginal game....i really wish i was older so i could have played ff when it first came out...i feel odd calling myself a fanatic when ive only been a fan for like 4 years maybe...
the gba games are a lot easier than ps version which are easier than the oringal....
