Are you talking about FFIII? I used Locke, Celes, Terra (I think that's her name... I always change it), and Edgar. Can't remember about the espers though.

Mog isn't that bad. He has some amazing abilities in the different dances, plus, there's the Moogle Charm.
And in the WoR, i think he was in the same place as where you found him before (when you encountered him, Lone Wolf and Tritoch in the north of Narshe)

and whats better Slot or GB Rain ???

Personally, i used GP Rain A LOT more than Slot, as it did a good amount of damage, and since i didn't see the chance of doing one of the better moves with the Slot Commando. :/

The first time you enter that village (Miranda Village?), you can't get Terra into your party. Only later (after some leveling up of the other characters :p ), you can get her, after fighting Phunbaba. (i think)

Locke can be strong, surely, with the best swords you can find throughout the game. Although he's not one of my favourites to put in my team, though.
And you can find him in the Phoenix Cave. Where that cave is, try playing the game further. :p You'll realize that the second part of FFVI is one big side-quest.

I dont understand the people who say Locke is crap in fighting. I mean, even if u lost the good swords you can always turn him into a great thief-mage :)

At Melph: Find a walkthrough. Final Fantasy VI is pretty complicated, it has lots of extra things and stuff that people here cannot answer fully

;) I'm not saying he's crap at fighting. Heck, as good as every character can be turned into a walking god, with things like Illumina and the Offering, but then i'ld prefer Shadow as my ultimate character. :D

Gogo,Locke,Terra,Sabin
Locke does healing
Gogo works on pwnage ;) (Air anchor usually)
Terra usually pulls Ultima out, if you dont have that Flare will suffice
Sabin use pummel\normal attack unless attacking a weakness in which case use the corresponding element.

I usually substituted Locke for edgar, who also does healing but i prefer having the debilitator there.

Edgar
Sabin
Terra
Gogo

Don't remember why, but that's the team I always used.

I usually use Mog. Reason: I can turn on/off random encounters with little problem. In fact, the moment I get the airship, I zoom off to Narshe and pick him up. It makes getting the other characters a snap. Also, this little guy is one of the only characters that can get a 255 Defense using the "Snow Muffler" item; when Def is that high, -ALL- physical attacks will only deal 1 (front row) or 0 (back row) damage, even the Brachosaur's Swing special.

Gogo's very good. Even though his vital stats are crap and cannot be changed through Esper use, and his equipment set is subpar, his access to any command set in the game is simply too good to pass up. I think he's better off using Blitz, Tools, and Throw, but that was just my attempt at covering holes in the offensive line.

Strangely I almost always use Relm. Her starting MP and MagPwr, for some reason, are higher than anyone else's (even Terra's, why I have absolutely no idea), and she has access to some unique equipment, including the Cat Hood. She's generally my main magic user; I dislike Terra's Morph since it's so finicky about how often you can use it, and since I'm diligent about learning spells from Espers I've usually got Ultima on everybody before they even reach Lv. 40. Relm's the one who starts the Ultima/Quick/Gem Box spamming, and then Gogo mimes it if it's even necessary.

I always use Strago. Lore is an exceedingly useful command set, especially Step Mine, Dischord, Pearl Wind, Big Guard, Blow Fish and Rippler. Economizer also affects Lore skills, so it becomes very easy to use in the World of Ruin. Magus Rod adds 7 to MagPwr, so that makes things like Quasar hurt even worse. I think that the main pain in the butt with Lore is learning the spells, but I didn't have any problem finding them so I really like this command set.

Illulmina + MP drain/replenish Sword+Gengi Glove=Ownage!

At first I try to use a strong physical party for almost 2/3's of the game. After I get Locke back in World of Ruin, I go back to the Phoenix Cave with Locke in the party. There is a big bird there that Locke can steal Economizers from. That's when I start really concentrating on major magic power. I set my major magic users with them and go to town. (Terra, Celes, Strago, and Relm). Helps in the Cult of Kefka tower. Takes forever for the enemy to kill themselves off (reflected magic) and Economizers keep the MP down to 1.

Rydia-Terra's Morph is like a workout. The more you use it, the longer Terra can stay in the Morph state.

Idealic normal party-

Sabin-Blitzes
Sabin-Tools
Celes-Runic and she's really versitle.(Genji Glove+Atma Weapon+some other strong weapon)
Locke-Steal and with boomerang type weapons (Genji Glove of course)he can be put in the back and do front row physical damage.

Sub characters to use-
Relm-Just to see what her Sketch can do to certain monster.
Seltzer-Too much money and nothing worth buying? Coin toss will fix that.
Gogo-For when I want to be cheap and lazy about fights.
Umaro-Throwing an ally to do damage is just too funny!(Imagine that in a PS3 remake or somethin'!)

Only time I start really using Strago is when I get an Econimizer for him. Lore is just so darn high in MP cost!
