I preferred ff9's card system.
then ff8's.
As a whole ff9, but that wasn't there so..........
Blitzball was too repetative after a while.

That's okay, 'cause i think FFVIII's card game is so much better than FFIX's. :-P
Anyways, then here's my top 6:
1. Card Game (FFVIII)
2. Chocobo Mini Game (FFVII)
3. Chocobos (FFX)
4. Blitzball (FFX)
5. Chocobos (FFIX)
6. Blitzball (FFX-2)

I liked them all respectively. If I had to pick a favourite, it would probably be FFVIII's Card System.
As Trent said, it's much better than FFIX's.
And perhaps you guys would like to say why you think FFVIII's card game is better?

Well, I found FFIX's Card system to more complex (which is a good thing) but that made it more confusing. Like remembering what the initials and numbers stood for which kind of put me off it a little. Whilst FFVIII's system was more basic and easy to understand which made it more appealing and entertaining at the same time.

IXs card game was easily the worst thing FF has eva produced!
Rude, I find it amazing that you actually seem to have become dumber in the time you've been gone.

Triple Triad - able to refine cards into useful items, no "variables" factored into gameplay
Blitzball - combining sports and strategy with some RPG elements, expansive but at times too easy. The FFX-2 version was shit. It wasn't fun building up your characters to be able to stand a chance against the other teams. Also, it had "injuries" which were a bad idea.
FFVII - Chocobo mini game? You mean racing? Too easy, not fun. Other games, such as Snowboarding, were amusing, especially if you had some friends over and wanted to see who was the best.
Tetra Master - waste of time, not an improvement over Triple Triad in the slightest.
Chocobos in FFX - all of the minigames felt more like a chore.
Disagree with you on a couple points, TB. I think FFX-2's blitzball was probably superior to the original's, although the differences make it inaccessible to people who are already used to the previous incarnation and can't wrap their brains around the new one easily.
When you get down to it, X-2 blitzball was far more tactical. Sure it gets easy fast once you find a routine that works, but it is at least a competent sim-type game. Injuries weren't necessarily a bad idea; just not to your liking.
Also, Tetra Master did have advantages over Triple Triad. For example, the base game mechanic had enough complexity to make the ridiculous extra rules from Triple Triad unneeded.

That's the difference Prak, I like the "pick up and play" sort of minigames better than the "read these rules and spend a long time finding a workable method" type because the latter distracts me too much from the actual game.
I can understand that. All I'm saying is that it's unfair of you to say that it's total shit when it clearly does have merit. To be perfectly honest, I hated X-2's blitzball. I just recognized that it still had a competent system and could have been fun if I had bothered to learn it properly.

It's an opinion poll however, and my opinion is that it's shit. I wasn't asked to be objective. ;)

:D Touché. Sometimes you don't need an obvious logical reason to define why you like something. :p

I found it too easy because all i needed was a squall and seifer card, and i preety much won every time.

Triple Triad(card game in FFVIII) its simply amazing and fun to play. I loved trying to collect all the cards, the "random" rule was annoying at times though.

I still hated it, it became too easy after you got the cards and progressed later into the game. In other words, it was too simple of a mini game.

I loved blitz myself, i still play FFX just to play blitz. I've suggested to Squareenix to make a bliztball game for the psp, w online capabilties and so on, dont think they'll go for it tho.
But I did love the card game in VIII, it was great, I have that on my psp alredy tho.

i can't believe so many people like the FF8 card game. I do too..but it's something that gets annoying and drawn out after you fully understand it. Blitzball is more involving and lively.
