I think it works in Disc 3 only. You need to get 5,000 points or more.

I did all that and got the supersweeper.

You need to get 6000 points for the Flayer. I am still trying to get it....

Well, it definitely appears. I think it may be a bit random, or you have to beat your previous score or something.

No it's definetly 6000, you must get 6000, but how?

There are various obstacles as you know and some are hidden. It just takes practice. As well as the planes, etc.. you can shoot the cactuses, the treadmill thing on the boat, and apparently the propeller on the blimp (though I've never gotten this one to work).

No, it works like this:

Disc 1/2 - Umbrella
Disc 3 - Flayer

You must get over 5000 points and beat your old record.

Here are a few secrets:

In the plane area, when you're making the turn around and can see the cactus area you just passed, you'll notice a faint boulder coming into view from the top right. Shoot it for +200 points.

Coming out of the plane area, where a single yellow monster emerges, look down. You'll notice the water wheel on the boat, like Enya said. If you aim in the center and keep with it, you'll get 1 point per flipper rotation. Once I was able to get +200 points or so there.

During the giant UFO, always aim at the center between the black and yellow tape and the bottom of the craft. That's an easy +1000 points.

At the end, when you're going through the beacons, point your cursor down so it's positioned just at the bottom left of your screen. If you do it correctly, there's a beacon at the end that you'll hit for another +200 points.

If you fared well throughout the rest of the course, get these 1800 points I mentioned and you'll easily have enough to get the Flayer.

Btw, I finally broke 7000. You don't get anything special. :(

You get it in the 64th Floor of the Shinra Building on the disc 2 raid, so if you've missed it I'm afraid you can't get it again. Sorry mate. :(
