On any format. For me it's Resident Evil 4, it's an incredible game, so radically different then any other RE, but for once a game's style has changed and it turned out well. This game has so much going for it, it's longer then any other RE, the guns pwn(upgrading them is cool too), so many different enemies and it's actually a hard game. Loads of other class games, but this one takes the gold.

RE4, Half-Life 2, God of War, or Civ4... I can't decide.

This will suffice for what I have to say about the game.

Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy in the US).
Ever since i played and fell in love with the under-rated "The Nomad Soul" i`ve been looking forward to Quantic Dreams second game. I was really looking forward to it but i found myself very disspointed. Maybe it didn`t connect with it very well but i can see why other people like it so much. Though, the story was a tad bit limp imo.

Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy in the US).
Fahrenheit has a great story and i like the main character Lucas Kane and his journey but i don't think i can go play the game for the second time. It's more like a movie than a real game.

Favorite game, eh? Well, to tell you the truth...it'd have to be...from Shadow Hearts 2, Final Fantasy 7, or The Legend of the Dragoon. I don't care what anyone says, that was a good game, not another RPG cheap knock-off story. I loved it, twas grand!

It's not from this year, but SSBM has been making me rofl a good bit the past few days.
I haven't completed everything yet, though. Still doing the 100-man melee with different characters until I get through it.

Okay, I got RE4 for the Gamecube this past Friday and played it off and on all weekend.
I think I've been killed something like ten times, but most of those were at the very beginning where you first enter the main village and that swarm of people starts coming at you. I held out until the church bell rang, though, but running into a house and capping them in the head with the pistol until they died or I got the headshot explosion (then quickly running forward and grabbing the dropped ammo and such when there was a break in the onslaught or I was low on ammo).
I think I'm doing pretty well for having avoided all the FAQ's and such. Though that one part with the cage match with that fucker with the claws and all those monks outside with crossbows was annoying as fuck. Good thing I already had the Mine Launcher, though. Slap that fucker with the claws with it and he'd stand there looking around from the beeping of the mine until it went off. Took four mines going off on or near him to kill him, but at least I didn't get the instant death attack from him stabbing me in the head like the one in the prison cell did the first time I ran into one.

Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends on PC.
Seriously its a great game that i worth getting. Those stupid internet reviewers thinking they're so cool because they lower the score coz the campaign isn't that great. I mean who plays campaign for a RTS game. Well this game has been getting 9/10 constantly from other reviewers. It really is a game worth saving up for.

Around the beginning of the year ('06) there wasn't really much to say in terms of decent games being released, so I cracked out some old (but not forgotten) favorites and here's some:
Dragon Force (Saturn)
Lords of Thunder (PCEngine)
Strider (NES)
Although lately I've been playing alot of Unreal Tournament 2k4 and Oblivion.
Now whereas most people say Oblivion is probably the best 1st Person RPG available, I still kind of miss the Kings Field series by From Software. I know of a PSP title in development, but under a different production company.
From what I've discussed with the friends I have at Agetech, there are no plans to tentatively design, or release another Kings Field title in the near future for any next-gen. That makes me horribly sad. =/
