What is this rumor about FFXI? Is it the last? If it is, that would be terrible. I am a major FF fan and I would hate to see the series end. Someone please help.

its no rumor it is a on-line version of Final Fantasy that will cost a Arm and a Leg to setup and more then likely have little to no story.

there will never be a FINAL fantasy and that's that. I hardly doubt squaresoft will stop this making final fantasies as they are so good and bring in lots of cash!!

I think what keeps the series alive is every game has a whole new story, all new chairactors, all new lands, etc. And if you have played 1 you don't have to relearn new spells in most case. I have been having problems with Skies of Arcadia cause Im still too used to play Final Fantasy games.

Other then the Spells and common monsters, most everything is the same.

Even though they still have a simlar plot (which ususually invoves a guy and a girl falling in love and they have to save the planet) they still are new. I know after about 4 Mega Man games I got kinda tired of it cause they was all the same minus new bosses.

You are right on the Vegita, but it's more than that I believe, it's a story which is well thought out and never boring which is also a good reason why Final Fantasy is alive and well. Each Character also has a problem which works it's way into things like Vivi never knew who his parents were, but you actually find out in the end, and how Garnet found her way on to the throne. These problems make it better and more interesting.

Yea why can't there be more game developers out there who put as much time and effort into there games. I mean I know I played Evergrace and it was pathetic. That game looks like they took a bunch of different levels and just throw them into any order. And every weapon/armor you get you buy from the same merchant who you magically teleport to when you see a crystal.

I have been replaying ff10 and it just amazes me Square is the only company that puts such detailed story lines into a game. I mean as good of a game Skies of Arcadia is, it is still generic and nothing compared to a square RPG. While I love the Zelda series even it isn't AS detailed.
