Yay, more Gilgamesh love. :D And it's V. But he comes back in later games. It made me so happy to see him in 8 and 9. :D

Gilgamesh was a phunny guy, but his later appearances weren't as an enemy, if I recall - in VIII he was more of a guest appearance, and IX...well, I don't know what he was there! A mysterious thief with four arms that turned out to be a bit of a liar about his thief ranking, maybe?

Anyway, I loved the battles and his dorky comments in V. He was entertainingly deranged ;)

I'd have to say Sabin or Edgar... they are both very good and useful characters, especially Sabin with his Blitz... Bum Rush was the move! It took away 9999 I think, I have to play it again, but that move was crazy! I train him to like level 82 or something like that, and Kefka was no match for the homecoming team! Sabin, Edgar, Celes, and Locke... great team right there.

Kefka was the best villian in the FF series to date. Why?

Because a lot of FF villans tried to destroy the world...

But Kefka actually did. He has the most blood on his hands, and he managed to be crazy AND smart.

I hate, but at the same time, love Reina/Lenna from FFV. I think she can be such an annoying twat, but her hair is just so cool. Faris is another awesome character.

I liked Mog from FF6 for being a Mog.

I noticed that.

For me, I can easily say my favorite character is Celes. Battle-wise, I realized how amazing of a character Gogo is during my third run through FF6.

For me, Kefka is the best. I don't know how Square made him like that. He was who propelled me to play VI on GBA nonstop for about two or three days straight until I won. GOD I wanted to kill that sadistic, psychopathic jester bastard. They should have had him scream in agony when he died at the end.

I also like Relm...she has that awesome Sketch ability, and though I haven't tried it, the Control ability must be cool too. And of course, she has the highest starting magic power in the game, so that alone is reason to like her. And of course, she's only 10 years old.

And lastly, I like Ex-Death, because nobody seems to mention him, and because he's the one who managed to destroy the most towns/cities. He didn't cause pain and suffering like Kefka, he just DID. And also, he's a magical transforming tree! Weirdest villain idea I've ever heard of.

I have a question, what is so appealing about Edge? He reminds me of Irvine from FF VIII. He acts so cool and confidant but he really doesnt have the power or ability to back anything up. And with his first encounter he was imediately commenting on the beautiful ladies. As for being a prince, shouldn't he be trying to piece back his people, his empire instead of trying to get revenge for his parents? He's got other things to worry about. Granted I havent beaten the game yet, but this is my observation of him thus far in the game.

Kefka. He's crazy and epic as hell, and it's awesome.

Cyan, but I have to fight with myself to come to that decision definitively.

Probably Kefka or Tellah. Kefka was amazingly funny ("son of a submariner" etc...) and Tella was too ("You spooney bard" etc...). For reasons other than comedy though, I'd have to say Kain and Ingus. They're just badass. Well, Kain moreso anyway.

Relm Arrowny (FFVI) for two reasons.

10 year old girl fighting monsters with her brush! She can copy their abilities and occasionally glitch out the game. With a merit award, you can give her giant swords. Little girls with giant swords are awesome!!

I really like her spoiled brat attitude, but she's nice sometimes. Despite her bratty personality, she is awesome and adorable. She's just...radical.

Not to mention her design is great, such a cool outfit. She's not just my favorite classic Final Fantasy character, she's one of my favorite characters ever. Then again, little girls who can beat up monsters are generally awesome.

And on the villains' side: Kefka, most obviously.

Gilgamesh. Even though he was really only in FFV for comedy relief, he's technically the only true reoccurring character in the entire series, appearing in FFVIII, IX, XI and XII. Plus his theme music still stands as one of the best battle themes that Nobuo Uematsu ever composed.

Finally, he even has his own flunkie, in the form of my handle's namesake. How many characters can top that? ;)

Speaking of which, if there's anyone here who hasn't yet read Gilgamesh the Hero (the epic of Gilgamesh and Enkidu), read, now. I read it for the first time the other day and it was very good.

Sabin Hands down. He was awesome, there was a time when I had memorized all his Blitz. That was back when the FF games were in their Prime. Oh the good old days. FF 6 was the best out of all the FF games ever made, I loved all the characters on that one, and the story line. I hope they make a new one just like it, not the same game I mean, but a new game that has similar characters and classes and such. I liked all the choices and skills you could learn. It was so awesome! :D

To me Final Fantasy - Final Fantasy: IX are classics... Why? Because Hironobu Sakaguchi left after those games (I won't believe his job as executive producer at all :P).

Awww, you're most welcome! :D And I normally refer to people on the forum with a shortened version of their username, as it's easier that way (I'm normally just called 'Enki' or 'Enk' usually ;)).

Also, Celes is an awesome character too, especially in the opera scene (still the greatest scene in an RPG in my opinion). ^^

My favorite female character will always be Tiffa Lockheart while my fave male character will be Sephiroth.

My favourite in 6 is Celes. She seems to have that ice chip off her in the game

My favourite in 3, gosh, I don't remember their names, because i didn't play it until DS. but it's probably Refia, and she's strong at end game.
I haven't played 1 or 2 enough to know the characters.

Only completed IV, and my favourites from it are Cecil and Rydia.

Always liked Yang from IV. Also liked Edge, Kain, Sabin from VI, and "Black Belt" from FF1.

Kain! Dark, brooding loner, Dragoon with the most badass character design in the series...he's always been my favorite.
