Alexander is easy to get.

When you're down there in the snowy stuff, go find the hot spring and touch the water.

Then go to the snowlady in the cave and she'll be insulted you touch her with those filthy hands and you get to fight her.
After you beat her you get the Alexander materia.

Solo fights are instances when it's good to have a decently-sized Enemy Skill materia filled up, so that you don't have to burden yourself down with materia that's too expensive or too diverse. Big Guard, Beta, Magic Hammer, and White Wind are all available early on and aren't overshadowed by other, more MP-unfriendly attacks later on. If you want Yuffie's fight to a breeze, put in a bid to get Doom of the Living, her second melee limit, and you'll do fine.

Remember: Godo is one of the only sure places in the game you can get the Trine enemy skill, so it's best to get all four materia and learn it there before you run out of options.

you can get trine up in the mountains after getting vincent, off the boss

Slanted and Enchanted
10-20-2005, 09:00 AM
Yes, you can get it from the Materia Keeper, but you only have two Enemy Skill materia at that point. What I'm trying to convey is that Godo will always be there to fight, and since he's one of the three that casts Trine on a regular basis, it's best to be well-prepared to get it on all of the E. Skill materia because it's not possible if all the outlets are exhausted. Of course, if you don't know where all all said materia are or don't care one way or another, there's no reason to bother with all the pre-battle preparations.

Option 1: Materia Keeper
Option 2: Stilvas in Gaea's Cliff [which is accessible at only one portion of the story]
Option 3: Godo, the fallback plan

Check your map at major points, such as the lone tree or a major interesection. Snow (as she's called) should be at the right-hand part of your map in the only cave that's depicted there.

Actually, if you walk into the cave, she just sits there. It's a bit of a pain to find the right cave, but keep trying, it's there.

I'm not at that point in game yet, else I'd tell you how to walk, but I'll try and find out

Go to the springs NE of the enterance and dip your hand in it. That would "dirty" them up for the Boss Snow. Go to the "overworld" where the stupid snow forces you to rotate and head Eastbound. Note: Make sure you go only eastward. If you get slightly rotated, you may end up getting lost.

With that said, go east until you end up in a horizontal path, where you're on the west side of that path. Continue east through the annoying 2-3 same paths until you see a large background where a cave will be NE of you. Go there and you'll see a female. Touch her and she'll yell at you, thus beginnng the fight.

The fight itself: Straight foward, if you use fire attacks. If you have Elemental/Fire equiped on to a character with a powerful weapon, that'll be super. Also, Vincent's Galiant Beast would also help greatly. Whatever character you put on the Elemental/Fire combo, put Ifrit on the final character. It's best to put the Elem/Fire combo on the physically strongest character. (Odds are that'll be Cloud) So, you've got Cloud slashing with a fire sword, Vincent using Beast Flare and Number Three using Ifrit. Put Ribbon on Cloud so he doesn't become victim to Confusion. And you will win eventually.

That specific cave is only accessible if you come STRAIGHT from the hot spring (remember you HAVE to touch the hot spring).

Order-

1. Hot Spring (touch)
2. Upper right Pathway
3. You come to a four way intersect go top right.
4. After you go through the paths you SHOULD be at a place where you go down a hill-like slope and there is a cave to the left.
5. Enjoy the Easy battle!

If you didn't recieve it at first than go to the chocobo ranch and in the bottom right part of the screen (near the front), in front of the fence where you talk to the chocobos near the start, there is an extra "Chocobo Lure"!

This my dear friend is not a lie!

it kinda went from Summons, to Materia, to Quoting!

really though, how long can we talk JUST about summons in general?

Here, I'll fix your post to apologize.

Okay, everyone....

Do you use all your summons all the time, or do you only use, like, 4 (or something) at once on each person?

If so, which 4 on which characters?

Here's Mine

CLOUD~ ODIN, HADES, BAHAMUT ZERO, LEVIATHAN.
VINCENT~ NEO BAHAMUT, KJATA, PHOENIX, TITAN
CAIT SITH~ ALEXANDER, BAHAMUT, KNIGHTS OF THE ROUND, TYPHOON
