Okay just interested in how you say some of the names. Me and my mates sometimes have arguements on how to say names from final fantasy. But the ones I wanna know are:
Tidus (Some people say Teedus, others tie-dus. I say Teedus)
Laguna (I like to say it like Lag-wa-na, someone I know says La-goo-na)
Shiva (I say it like she(like you know female)-va, others shiv- a like shiver)
Yuffie (I like to say You-fee some like fuff-ee
Kiros ( I say kiros with like at the the start of kite, other kiros like at the beginning of kit)
I know some of my pronounciations may not sound might to you, but that's just how I like to say them. Perhaps other people will know of other ways of saying them.
Well...post. How do you say them?

Cait Sith as "Kate-sith"
And the one I never tryed to say... Locke. I always avoided saying his name because I could never figure it out.

Tidus always used to be "Tie-Dus" for me, I know better now though (Kingdom Hearts), and I've reprogrammed myself to say "Tee-Dus" in my head. Laguna is pronounced just like "Lagoon" except with an "uh" sound at the end --- this one should be obvious --- Raine Loire, Squall Leonhart, etc. etc. Shiva is is "she-vuh" for me. Yuffie is "You-Fee" --- I know somebody who pronounced this "Youghie," like rhyming with toughie, but I've always pronounced it "You-Fee" and Kingdom Hearts proves me right on this one. Kiros is "Keer-Ohs."
BTW, I've been wondering lately about the FFIX names, so perhaps if people would care to share their thoughts on some of those. Here's how I do those:
Zidane - "Zie Dane" (rhymes with tie)
Eiko - "Eye Co."
Adelbert - "Add - uhl - bert" Steiner - "Stye ner"'
Freya - "Fray-a"
Vivi - "Vihvee"

You missed a couple though. Oh and BTW --- Locke is just "lock" --- just like the guy on Lost (named based on historical figure John Locke), but I'm guessing you haven't seen Lost.

I say Zidane like ZI Dane, just like the soccer player, i don't use Agent's Eiko pronounciation i just say like Ei Ko
Since Shiva is a Indian God ( I think) i say like shivuh

But what's "Ei" though --- how do say that? Do you actually say "e" "i?" Or do you combine it somehow and if you do, give us a rhyme.

like the sound when you read the word Lay that Ei, or the sound of Hey, this pronounciation threads are hard to explain

Zidane - "Zie Dane" (rhymes with tie)
Eiko - "Eye Co."
Adelbert - "Add - uhl - bert" Steiner - "Stye ner"'
Freya - "Fray-a"
Vivi - "Vihvee"
I've always pronounced it:
Zidane - "Zih dane" ("zih" like the "mi" in "mitt") - I can't gaurentee "accuracy"
Eiko - "Ay co" ("ay" as in the end of "hay." That would be the correct way to say the Japanese name Eiko, so I assume it's correct here :P)
Adelbert, Steiner, Freya - same as you
Vivi - "vee vee" (While there is no "v" sound in Japanese (they use "b" instead), I think it's safe enough to assume that Vivi is pronounced as if it were in Japanese - both "vi"s being pronounced exactly the same way. Since Japanese syllables that end with "i" are pronounced "ee" (like the end of Monkey), I assume that applies to Vivi as well)
Interesting thing to note (well it might not be, but I'm in a typing mood :P) the Korean "Aeris" that Chrons posted is exactly the same as the Japanese "Aeris" - Earisu. Which is also why both "Aeris" and "Aerith" are correct translations, as the "su" can be either or. The "su" is more commonly used instead of a "th" sound at the end of a word, though, since there is no "th" in Japanese - for instance, my name (Seth) directly translated to Japanese is "Sesu." Names like "James" end with a "zu" as it more accurately represents the sound.

Yeah, I've thought it might be that way, but I like the other way better.
I have known people say "Baa-ha-moot"
Sounds about like how I say, except that first syllable sounds like maybe how a sheep might say it, I'd say it like "buh." (rhymes with "uh")
