So a lot of Final Fantasy songs out there will give out a soft and gentle melody, that you can sit back, kick your feet up, and relax too, I particularly like the tracks from the Piano collections, I like to put them on when I want to sleep, because they are slow paced, and really make the original tracks sound a lot more enjoyable, It's also very quiet and helps you drift off.
So, What I want is for people to reccomend songs for people to relax too, and tell us what you like to relax too!
Let's see, I will choose.. Village of Dali - Final Fantasy IX Piano Collections (
http://gh.ffshrine.org/soundtracks/10/5 Collections) This song is nicely paced, the start is very peaceful, and it continues to stay at a slow and steady pace, you can really get the feel of a quiet village out in the open fields, and also gives fresh memories of your travels to that area in the game! very good to doze off too :P also a huge faviorate from many people..
Travelling Company - Final Fantasy X Piano Collections (
http://gh.ffshrine.org/soundtracks/42/5) Played to chill you out after a long hard journey fighting monsters, this will surely put you too sleep in no time! The pace is very slow, and also gives quite a warm feeling too, well, this is for an inn, so of course it will be a sleepy theme!

The orchestral rendition of Main Theme of FFVII from FFVII Renuion. A first-class orchestrated remix of FFVII's world map music - it is performed exactly as Uematsu composed it in the game.
A lush, beautiful melody, best listend to on a warm spring afternoon with a window open and a cool breeze drifting in. I couldn't think of a more relaxing tune.. Good stuff..
EDIT: Can't be bothered putting in a link to it..

ok, I've always been into the chilled out songs from FF series, so I've got a few I can recommend.
Fishermans Horizon theme - this one always relaxed me
the music from aeris death, maybe its called aeris theme not sure
Blue Fields - this is the music from the ff8 world map
Breezy - the music from balamb town in ff8, this is one of my favorites
Balamb Garden music - love this music too.
Crossing Those Hills - the map music from ff9, another favorite of mine
the music from the secret Daguerro library in ff9
ahead on our way - this is the music from kalm in ff7. probably the equally the most relaxing of all these, equal with breezy.

I'll agree with the Fishermans Horizon Orchestrated Version! Pretty good stuff (
http://gh.ffshrine.org/soundtracks/38/5) I love the vocals at the beginning! I love how they can still keep the original theme in the background, but overlay it with some pipe instruments and String based, very melodic.
Also the Piano theme of Blue Fields, I found that quite relaxing, I dozed off too it last night actually Pretty good (
http://gh.ffshrine.org/soundtracks/40/1) Its very slow paced like alot of the piano themes I like to doze off too.

yeah, I agree that fishermans horizon orchestrated is better than the original. the sound of the melody of the original is a little bit shrill and piercing. but i still like it.

Dammit, I just posted this, but it screwed up, and now I'm forced to rewrite it. CURSES.
anyway
I really like the song that plays in the forested waterfally areas of besaid island. pretty much everywhere outside the besaid village itself. If anyone knows its name I'd appreciate it.
And the songs on Galbadia Hotel... theyre all freeware? is it because theyre remakes of the original ff music and therefore free? let me know

They are original songs which you can listen to, or you can rip off Squares new music download site, and also all the albums that are available on itunes now, and the shops that sell the albums, by downloading them, Don't worry, Sarah is the one getting arrested for that, not you.
Also, Those Besaid Island songs are pretty good to relax too, the original ones, and the Piano Version, An orchestrated version would be cool :)

- The Besaid theme is the most relaxing imo
also:
- In FFvii when Budenhagen is showing Cloud and the others his observatory. I can't remember the name for it but its got a sweet melody.
- Also in FFvii when Clid and Aeris are having that date in the gold saucer. I can't remeber the name of the song but its got something to do with fireworks ?_?
- and the Wutai theme because I like the oriental style to it.

My favourite "relaxing" FF track is definately "Eternal Wind" from FFIII (NES), which I think is probably the best world map music in the series. It's a pretty simple track but very relaxing to listen to. My other favourites are:
FFVIII - Eye On Me (Piano version)
FFVIII - Love Grows (a relaxing instrumental version of Eyes On Me)
FFX - Besaid Island
If non-FF music counts then the most relaxing music I've heard would have to be the "Prairie" track from Legend of Dragoon. That's probably the most relaxing track I've ever heard.
If Chrono Trigger/Cross music also count (which I like better than the FF series overall in terms of music) then my favourite relaxing tracks would be:
Chrono Trigger - Time Circuits (Zeal theme)
Chrono Trigger - Schala's Theme
Chrono Cross - Home Village (Aruni theme)
Chrono Cross - Time's Grasslands (Home World theme)
Chrono Cross - Guldove theme (both versions)
