Apparently, you don't have to, but they didn't program different dialogue if you skip it.

Why ask if it's possible when you have done it already?
It is a side quest you know, besides you don't have to get yuffie at all.

Ya know, there are probably hundreds of places on the net where you could find the answer.

*SPOILERS*

Ok, you dont have to go to Wutai. When you first get the Tiny Bronco you have the option of going west and to Wutai. You can ignore this and just go east through a river to the south of the desert and head for the Temple Of The Ancients.
You can return to Wutai later and it is advisable because that is where you get a few decent weapons and a some materia. Also doing Yuffies side quest and fighting her father in the pagoda of the gods will yield the leviathan summon materia and also the her level four limit break!

I personally do this when i have all four enemy skill materia's, as Godo (Yuffie's father) is one of the only things that casts trine in the game. You cant learn it from any of the things in battle arena and the only other things you can get it from are materia keeper and a thing that looks like materia keeper on the Gae's cliffs. Both of these you never fight again after you get the fourth enemy skill materia, so save that side quest till you have all of them!

Hope some of that info helped! :-)

And if you have like a lot of master materia she wont take it all so you can kick that big birds ass

Actually, it seems like he clicked the "submit" button twice because it was loading slowly, so it submitted the same post twice...

And what exactly is the purpose of a fourth Enemy Skill materia? You can only possibly use three at once...

incase you 'trash' one by mistake?

You know the game tells you to go to the temple of the ancients
skipping wutai it isn't hard just don't go there.

If it were up to me, I'd make it non-optional, but alas, Yuffie's All Creation as well as Leviathan are optional.

well I don't really know if it's a good idea to skip wutai...because I mean...Trine, Leviathan, All Creation...important stuff if you REALLY want to beat the game.

Beating the game isn't hard.
But if you did find it hard to beat you would find beating the temple hard at that stage anyway.

If you found beating FF7 hard, then I feel bad for you. :-(

If you REALLY want to beat the game, you need primal intellingence and a brain, no matter what size.

You guys didn't get it...I meant if you wanted to beat it 100%, not that it's actually hard to beat -.-

Be very careful with that term. By "beating it 100%" you could mean "beating all the weapons, getting every possible item, maxing out your gil at 999,999,999, maxing all of your stats at 255, having seven sets of master materia (one for each character) getting every single enemy skill in the game for all of your enemy skill materiae, and the list goes on." I still got what you mean, but you have to be careful.

Ohhh! You're right. I remember that boss. I think it's the one in the cave before Rocket Town? Correct me if I'm wrong, long time since I played it...

Salem

Yes you can get it from the Materia Keeper, but by then you only have maximum 2 Enemy Skill Materias, so you can't use that boss to get Trine on the other 2 Enemy Skill materias you get afterwards.

Salem, I know you're new here, but Felipe posted that question about two years ago. He's probably found that out by now.

Also, you may get bollocked by some of our less patient regulars if you keep reviving ancient threads.

And please enjoy it here by the way :)

Well,

I came on this topic by search, so I didn't really look at any date, sorry about that.
Replied to this because of the faulty information for people who want to master all the materia they find:

You can get trine off of Materia Keeper, you don't need to go to Wutai.

I'm replaying FFVII, it's an old game, not going to make new topics if they're already there, but yea you're right, people don't search anyway, so posting in old topics isn't very usefull, since they will just ask the same question over and over again nowadays. ;)

And I'm not exactly new here, my old account is just gone, can't even register with my old acc name anymore, waiting for a namechange ...

Greetz and thanks for the welcome none the less :),
