Tough one. I love the whole You're Not Alone sequence, 'cause it IS one of the best scenes throughout the game, BUT I really like the simplicity of the Vivi scene where it all starts with..

Vivi's Ticket, even though Zidane's Not Alone is probably going to win this one. :D

Blank Sacrifices himself
Blank does the good things and turns himself to stone to save the main group (Like Palam and Porom of FF4), tbh I thought he could have made it rather than just retire to his fate. Shows what a strong character Blank really is.

A strange and confusing story between two lovers where one doesn't have a clue who the other is but the other is longing for the other to remember her. One of the only relationships not to have a definitive happy ending (as far as I remember).

Exactly. It was a nice sidestory but later it grew into something... strange. Namely as the "dead" Fratley appeared. Out of nowhere. And disappeared again. The first time I played through this part simply made me say... "huh?"

Man this one is kind of hard for me believe it or not. The "nice" black mage village was pretty cool for me. I especially loved the tune...but Alexandria getting pwned was just a great scene.

Gizamaluke ()
The party fights it after leaving Lindblum's Dragon's Gate and heading to Gizamaluke's Grotto. Master Gizamaluke is apparently being controlled by Zorn and Thorn, as he is normally supposed to be loyal to Burmecia. The player has to get the Holy Bell from the Moogle that they gave the Kupo Nut to earlier in order to reach Gizamaluke.

It finds the party on the airfield at Dali. It has a taunting manner and is only interested in capturing Dagger and will not even converse with Steiner or Vivi.

I think Gizamaluke would win if they were to fight each other, I found the Gizamaluke to be more of a a challenge at the time when I first faced it compared to how challenging the black waltz #2 was when I first faced it. But I think Black Waltz #2 looks cooler!

General Beatrix is a temporary player character from Final Fantasy IX. Shell Dragon is a boss from Final Fantasy IX. It is fought in Castle Pandemonium by Zidane alone. But when he envitably gets his ass kicked Dagger saves the day by healing him upgood and so they fight on together (although still without a guarenteed win)

The Deathguise is a boss from Final Fantasy IX fought in Memoria. It is the last boss in the game before the final boss. Kuja summons it on the party. Its attacks vary from when it is open and closed. When it is open, it uses its physical attacks, Demon's Claw and Spin. When it is closed, it uses Twister, Meteor, Death, and L5 Death.

Shell Dragon for it's vast size and power and credit to Garnet for saving your bacon.

This one seems tricky but I think I will go with the Shell Dragon.

Both monsters weren't really THAT interesting for a boss, but like Beat, I really liked the design for Deathguise!

Necron ()
Necron is the Final Boss of Final Fantasy IX. He appears after Zidane defeats Trance Kuja, and represents death itself. Necron is a multi-dimensional being whose ultimate goal is to reduce everything to nothingness. Since the game's main theme is life, he came in as the opposite of that.

It lives in a sand vortex near Cleyra and lures its prey into its grip with ease. It captures Prince Puck when the Alexandrian army attacks Cleyra. Antlions are also fought later in the game if the party attempts to enter the Desert Palace through the wrong sand pits.

Black Waltz No. 3 is a boss from Final Fantasy IX. It is first fought on the Cargo Ship when the party is on the way to Alexandria, just as Zidane implements his plan to steal the ship and go to Lindblum instead. He is by far the strongest of the three, but his magic is so powerful that it slowly drives him insane. When the regular Black Mages attempt to protect Vivi from him, he wipes them out in a massive Thundaga attack, causing Vivi to become confused as to his actions. Vivi's confusion becomes rage and a battle ensues. He is later fought on the way to Treno.

Tantarian is an optional boss in Final Fantasy IX. It can only be fought two times in the game, once on Disc 2, and another time on Disc 3. It can be challenging if you decide to face him in the early stages because his highly damaging attacks can weaken the party pretty quickly. Its deadliest attack is Paper Storm, which inflicts hundreds of points of damage to all party members.

Necron (although he appears about 30 seconds before the end of the game) and Black Waltz 3 - I liked how relentless he was (and, to be honest, I've always forgotten to fight Tantarian >_<)

Antlion is one of those old enemies that they pretty much have in all the Final Fantasy games at one point or another but I liked the design of necron.

And Black Waltz, he's that reappearing character you fight over and over. I think every RPG should have someone or something like that.

Necron had a really interesting design.
Black Waltz 3 gains points for being a reoccuring boss. Quite a good one as well.

This is basically a crippled lich as only Zidane and Quina have to fight it.

The party fights it twice in the Evil Forest, once with Garnet imprisoned in it, and once with Vivi. The Prison Cage will use its Absorb ability to drain HP from whichever character it has imprisoned, both curing itself and hurting its prisoner. The player must keep the imprisoned character alive throughout each fight.

I'm actually going for Prison Cage, found it to be a bit harder for some reason.

It's almost certainly a lost cause at this point, but I'll go for Prison Cage too. The Earth Guardian just isn't impressive --- even with only Zidane and Quina in your party --- it's too easy to neutralize its attacks and defeat it quickly.

The party fights him in the Crystal World. He casts Curaga to replenish his HP and Reflect on himself in addition to Flare and Holy. He periodically casts Flare Star against the entire party.

Maliris is first encountered by the party in the Fire Shrine. While she isn't fought then, she does challenge Freya and Amarant and they appear to have fought her to place the mirror. Maliris appears again in the Memoria on the bridge leading to the memory of Alexandria being destroyed.

Trance Kuja was a hard battle and my favorite of any final fantasy boss fights. I tried a lot of times to beat him before I was successful. Then after that fight when I faced the final boss I beat him on the first try. It was probably luck but two people died, one petrified and I had only Vivi left to fight the final boss. For some reason he just didn't take out vivi.

The Amdusias is a flying demon enemy. It can use LV4 Holy which will affect characters of levels multipliable by 4. Freya and Amarant also save Zidans bacon in this battle.

You can fight Quale when Quina has captured 99 frogs in one of the many Qu's Marshes. Its stats are quite low, but it casts many Status spells. With the right equipment and innate status defenses, it won't be to hard to defeat. Once defeated, the player will receive Quina's ultimate weapon, the Gastro Fork, as a prize/gift.

Looking good bb14. I'm going for Amdusias as Quale isn't really an enemy/monster of the sorts. Plus I like its design.

Quale, he was a good idea for an optional boss and I think he had the most HP of anyone in the game if I remember correctly.
