Kudos to Chrono Trigger's "Lavos Core" for being the most unfair last boss EVER.

I`d have to say Luther in Star occean 3. Fuck sake what a tough boss, especially when he does that nova thingy attack.

Star Ocean: The Second Story's two gods(the two that team up to kill you in Fienal. The one that uses lots of fire and the strong magic using-one). They can be really hard if you're not prepared for an extremely deadly move that does near 5000 damage, in the first 5(ish) seconds of battle.

The two final bosses in Legend of Legaia were pretty tough.
I mean, without the Ra-Seru summon, Horn, you have a hell of a time keeping everyone healed up enough to attack.

Metroid Prime was hard for the first time i fought him because he takes so much of your life then when you finally beat him, he has his proper form straight away man it took me a while.

it depends if your counting optional bosses but i think either Ruby weapon from ff7 or Omeaga weapon from ff8 or if your not counting them maybe ultimacia from ff8 because of her angel attack take away move and her lenthly last form.
I'd have to go with Deus and his buddies in Xenogears. It's probably because I insist on Omega 100s for Fei, Bart, and Citan, and Z90s for everyone else.
Never was good at cost/benefit analysis. No heal-y in final battles

Xenogears is probably the toughest i've played, and i've played a lot.
Legend of Legaia was tough, and so was Lunar SSSC

i'd have to say Skeith, the last boss of .hack//infection. It has like 15 minutes worth of konstant button mashing worth of Hp. Also the last boss in Hack//Mutation who has an ability to blow the whole world to dust causing an instant Game Over (also like 30 minutes to run back to the filthy bugger...)
And Sephiroth of Kingdom hearts 1 and 2.. now that's a foe to deal with... *shiver*

^ I found that Sephiroth just needed a smashing of the reflect spell.
Hardest final boss I would say for me was Van of Tales of the Abyss( but only cause I was really underleveld.)
If we include sidequests I would probably have to say either Nemesis from the monster arena in FFX or the "Unknown Soldier" in KH2 Final Mix.

You do know that you can take him down without ever taking a hit, right? Or do you mean Penance?

Nemesis, Aka Omega Gold. The final boss in the monster arena. Beat all others 3 times and collect 10 of every monster in the game. Every attack, he counters with an Ultima.
Use Quick Attack until his turn comes up, swap in Yuna, use an Aeon as a meat shield. Rinse and repeat.
I found Onmyo Harihara from Digital Devil Saga to be fairly nasty. Her first form was relatively easy, but her second finished me off for weeks. She was the type of boss that leveling up didn't help very much for, you just had to figure out how to defend yourself best.

Ultimecia, I mean if you don't use invinci-items, she's a fucking bitch,
also Luther was a dick, he has a powerful move that leaves you devastated and each attack has a 50% instant KO rate, and it's a 10-hit combo. and he has spikes that do additional damage if you're unfortunate enough to bee near them. Man I love that Game :swoon:

Team Shadow, from Super Dodge Ball. The harder you play, the harder your clones play. You have to actually make mistakes, otherwise the computer will mimic your style of playing flawlessly insomuch that you've essentially become your own worse enemy.
