I came across this theory that i found interesting. Interesting in the way that i can`t believe i never picked up on it.
Here it is, before you enter the northern crater to fight Sephiroth if you go back onto the deck of the Highwind and talk to Cid he says:

"Hey Cloud, have you ever seen the play Loveless?"

Which to Cloud replies "yeah".

Then Cid goes onto say "I did, once, when I was interviewing to be a pilot in Midgar. I thought it would put me to sleep, and it did. Near the end, the guy next to me woke me up saying my snoring was too loud. All I remember is the end: the sister of the lead tells her lover 'I'll come back, even if you've moved on, because I know you'll be waiting.'"

If we read the last line we can see parralels between it and these following parts from the game.

During Cloud's dream of Aeris before her death:

Aeris: "...Then, I'll be going now. I'll come back when it's all over."

While Tifa, Cloud and Bugenhagen travel towards the Ancient City aboard the Highwind:

Tifa: "I wonder what Aeris felt... when she was on that altar...?"
Cloud: "I'm sure she wanted to give her life for the planet..."
Tifa: "Really? I wonder? I don't think that's it at all. I think she didn't think she would die at all, but that she planned on coming back all along. She always talked about the 'Next time'. She talked about the future more than any of us."

Is this a connection they intentionaly put in the game??
Or is it just a coincidence?

I'm thinking it's just a coincidence. I never actually noticed it in-game either.

Well it certainly is interesting good job :)

It could be that it was intentional..and I think it was to, if u ask me

Then again, it could be coincidence, but i think it was intentional :)

That isa good theory, cool that u noticed

Nope.

But it is documented on many other sites if that`s what your saying. It`s a well know "theory".

Well I certainly think its put there. I find it rather silly that someone would put up a poster that just happens to say "loveless." Its obvious that Cloud's head is always on her. Even after just rescuing Tifa from danger, there is no gratitude, only "I think I can meet her there." Perhaps an answer for the planet will unite these two, or perhaps the sign has already foreshadowed his destiny as a loner.

Further consider Final Fantasy VIII had the same approach. It starts with "I'll be waiting for you." Nobody puts in something so strategically placed and has it reoccuring only to provide "It was just a space filler."

Coincidence, mainly because Loveless is mentioned twice in the whole game. Once at the beginning if you talk to those two guards at the bottom of the screen at the pillar and that part with Cid.

Yes, it`s mentioned twice but it`s refrences are seen quite a bit. Most notably, with the game over screen. We see a film reel which in my mind anyway, related to Loveless.

Maybe but that's too little of a thing to matter anyway. And I know I'm going off topic with this, but I've always wondered. What's with the Lost Passengers thing, Dirge?
