Another RTVE issue, from 1993, this centres on the Zanetti-Turina piano duo, composed of Miguel Zanetti (who passed away in 2008) and Fernando Turina, who are the dedicatees of all the works here, including the Montsalvatge, originally composed for solo piano in 1941 but arranged for four-hand piano in 1983.
The tracklist is as follows:
XAVIER MONTSALVATGE (1912-2002)
Three divertimenti (1941-83)
1- Deciso (Chotis)
2- Dolce (Habanera)
3- Vivo (Waltz-Jota)
MANUEL CASTILLO (1930-2005)
4- Piano for four (1986)
CLAUDIO PRIETO (1934-2015)
5- Sonata No. 10 (1990)
NGEL OLIVER PINA (1937-2005)
6- Notes on an Impression (1983)
DELFN COLOM (1946-2008)
7- Banal Waltz (1984)
JOS LUIS TURINA (1952)
8- Fantasia on Don Giovanni(1981)
For the curious, ngel Oliver Pina was long credited for Carlo Rustichellis score for the film God Forgives, I Dont (1967), probably for quota reasons, as this was a co-production between Italy and Spain.
In any case, this recording is well worth listening, especially for the pieces by Castillo (an Andalusian who was a member of the so-named Generation of 1951), Prieto and Oliver Pina.
