Round 1, Battle 4:
1. Midgar: In many ways, the main town in the game. Home of Shinra Hq, and a healthy portion of the game is spent here. Quite a desolate and destitute place, with the exception of the wonderful Wall Market.
vs
3. Chocobo Ranch: Near Midgar, and you visit it early on, in order to catch a Chocobo, to evade the Midgar Zolom. Handsome rewards await those who have the patience to return to train, race and breed Chocobo's.

Cosmo Canyon-5
By more then a 2:1 vote, Midgar is our first finalist!
Semi-final 2:
16. Wall Market: The bustling Midgar metropolis has trampled all its oppnents so far. Beating Mideel and Gold Saucer with ease.
vs
6. Junon: One of focal points of Shinra's forces, and home to the canon, Junon has blasted Fort Condor and Costa Del Sol away very convincingly.
Fight!

Junon --- of course. This town deserves to win --- it had a big-ass cannon (although, admittedly, it did get moved to Midgar later), cool Rufus Welcoming March, secret enmies to fight and areas to hide, cargo ship service, elevators, undersea reactor and much more. Junon would be a pretty cool place to be. Did I mention that the spunky little Priscilla makes her home there too?

Midgar! It is the epitome of life! It has more special areas and important events than any other place in the game! Yes it is where the game begins and you just want to get out already and explore the world but that's just it! There's nothing as interesting and lively as what is in that city! And there's so much you do already there in one disc. Almost the entire plot and storyline (there is a difference; overarching theme vs all the experiences inbetween) is built off of what is in Midgar. And it's just so much more interesting the lifestyle in the slums, comparable to S-cryed, governmental/corporate power vs liberal applications by poverty level population. Not going into detail anymore..

Its sad. The two finalists are both the most polluted places in FF7. Well I'll vote for Midgar because well...although I'm not sure what Arcanine was on about, I think I enjoyed the game most at the start. And its so much bigger. Plus I found the music at Junon highly annoying.

I don't see how elevators can be something to whoop about. Besides Midgar had more elvaters, inside the shinra building XP

Tifa: Did you say the Shinra!? What are they up to!? Talk! If you don't tell us… (left leg on Corneo’s bed) I'll smash them.
Corneo: …You're serious, aren't you… …ohboy, ohboy, ohboy. …I'm not fooling around here either, you know. Shinra's trying to crush a small rebel group called AVALANCHE, and want to infiltrate their hideout. And they're really going to crush them…literally, by breaking the support holding up the plate above them.
Cloud: ...Shut up. The cycle of nature and your stupid plan don't mean a thing. Aerith is gone. Aerith will no longer talk, no longer laugh, cry...... or get angry...... What about us...... what are WE supposed to do? What about my pain? My fingers are tingling. My mouth is dry. My eyes are burning!
Sephiroth: What are you saying? Are you trying to tell me you have feelings too?
Cloud: Of course! Who do you think I am!?
Sephiroth: Ha, ha, ha...... Stop acting as if you were sad. There's no need to act as though you're angry either. Because, Cloud. You are...
Jenova: Because, you are...... a puppet.
Yuffie: (regarding Cosmo Canyon) This place is boring! I wanna go somewhere. Let's go find some materia.
Cid: Shut up! Sit your ass down in that chair and drink you goddamn TEA! Arggggggh! DAMN, I'm pissed! Shera! I'll be in the backyard tunin' up Tiny Bronco! AN' make sure to serve them some tea! All right!?
Cloud: A floating city... Pretty unsettling scenery.
Barret: Huh? Never expect ta hear that outta someone like you. …you jes' full of surprises. The upper world…a city on a plate… It's 'cuz of that #$@*&#' pizza', that people underneath are sufferin'! And the city below is full of polluted air. On topa that, the Reactor keeps drainin' up all the energy.
Cloud: Then why doesn't everyone move onto the Plate?
Barret: Dunno. Probably 'cuz they ain't got no money. Or, maybe… 'Cuz they love their land, no matter how polluted it gets.
Cloud: I know…no one lives in the slums because they want to. It's like this train. It can't run anywhere except where its rails take it.
Yuffie: Then what 'bout all the rest of you? You have all that power... Are you satisfied being cooped up in this tower?
Godo: Yuffie...!
Yuffie: You too, dad...! Just because you lost the war! And turning Wutai into a place like this!
Chekhov: ...What do you want to say?
Yuffie: You turned Wutai into a cheesy resort town peddling to tourists... How dare you!? Da-chao Statue and Leviathan are ashamed!!!
Cloud87

Some of my favourite:
Cloud: Mouth to Mouth?
Cloud: This is SOME underwear... I'm supposed to wear this...?
Barret: Where's its #%$*#&$ head? This whole thing's stupid. Let's keep goin'.
Tifa: Oh! Cloud! Your hair looks like a Chocobo!
Aeris: Hey, that's Cloud's line! '...It's too dangerous, I can't get you involved...' Blah blah blah.
Red XIII: I don't like two-legged things.
Cait Sith: Looks like Kya ha ha and Gya ha ha are up to something again.
Cid: Maybe God'd forgive an ugly #$*&# like you, but I won't!
Cid: Even the moon'd tire of waitin' around for your ass!
Vincent: Vincent. My occupation is......forget it.
Yuffie: Cloud, put me in your party, so I can get off this ship.
Yuffie: Cloud......sign this. It's a contract that says when the war is over, all the materia will belong to me.
Yuffie: Cloud, say something!
Cloud: ...something.

I suppose we probably have to include "One Winged Angel," if only because a whole bunch of people will probably be shouting at you "Hey! Where's 'One Winged Angel'?" later on, otherwise. Although I'd personally be more interested in seeing the other Sephiroth battle theme, "Birth of a God" ("The Birth of God?") included.
Oh, and I strongly second "Life Stream" and "Wutai" in particular.
Hex Omega
11-11-2006, 12:57 PM
Yeah, I much prefer 'Birth of God' personally, but yeah I guess OWA has to be in there. I'll see if I can get 32 in, if not it'll be 16.
