Chronological edit of the OST, assembled with the help of Kadron and Iamtommie44.
Having seen the film multiple times each, they assisted me with an accurate breakdown of the OST.
Some pieces were conjoined which shouln't have been (like the Zimmer OSTs of yore), this corrects that.
It's not 100% perfect, some parts I crossfaded to avoid harsh/jarring edits.
Quality is 16-bit, 44.1kHz Apple Lossless. I did not make the cover.
Pardon the tracklist, I threw it together in a matter of seconds.
Questions, input, tips, all other inqueries welcome. Enjoy :)

August 2019 update: the final 3 tracks from the film have been ripped and added to the archive

It's not complete because we're missing more material. This is far from complete. However, this edit of the end credits is longer than what's on the commercial release.

Then change it to your liking. Do what you want. Rename the whole set for all I care. I’ve never been fond of Silvestri’s cue titles so I change them to my liking. “Tres Amigos” imo is also stupid and makes no sense. This is not a Spanish film. So it became “The Trio”.

Great! However, I have a doubt: the tracks are credited by being by Alan Silvestri and the London Symphony Orchestra. But how do you know that the LSO performed the Endgame score? Where did you get this information from?

The movie is out on digital now, so I sat through the entirety of the end credits (which wasn't a fun experience) to see if there's any information about which orchestra performed the score and where it was recorded. But the only information on the credits is that they used London Voices (which isn't exactly interesting, a lot of Hollywood movies uses the London Voices, including many Marvel ones) as a choir and that Mark Graham helped conduct the score - I assume Silvestri conducted much of the score himself, unlike Infinity War, in which he couldn't participate on the recording sessions due to his duties on Ready Player One.

It would be pretty great if this score was indeed performed by the LSO, their biggest blockbuster movie since Deathly Hallows Part 2, if I'm not mistaken. On the past, the power of the orchestra was used on a lot of classics by Williams (Superman, Raiders, the first six Star Wars movies), Horner (Aliens, Legends of the Fall, Braveheart, Willow) and others, but these days only Patrick Doyle and Alexandre Desplat are using them.

Wow, they also performed the original Avengers? How about that.

Of course they did! Silverstri uses The Hollywood Studio Symphony and The London Symphony Orchestra. I couldn’t find anything on which orchestra performed IW though.

Josivaldo
08-03-2019, 02:40 AM
Thanks for that.

I searched for the LSO tweet, but couldn't find it, just this one from May 2012, around the time the first Avengers was released, where they say it's the first time they collaborate with Silvestri since Roger Rabbit in 1988 - therefore confirming that the first movie indeed utilized the LSO:

https://twitter.com/londonsymphony/status/197679438761168899

However, no Avengers movie is listed on their selected filmography on their website, which is very odd. I mean, these movies made tons of billions of dollars at the box office and were well received by the critics, so why not put it on their resume? Instead, they highlight stuff like Suburbicon, Suffragette and Jack Ryan Shadow Recruit, which weren't exactly hits with audiences and critics.

https://lso.co.uk/orchestra/history/lso-and-film-music.html

My guess is that Marvel/Disney are to blame on this case. For some reason, they are VERY secretive with their MCU scores. I mean, how many featturettes about the scores, with footage of the sessions, have you ever seen for a Marvel movie? Of course, there are a few pics and videos posted by the composers themselves (like Pinar Toprak, who posted a pic of the Captain Marvel sessions on her Facebook, or Giacchino posting his Homecoming orchestra performing the 60s Spidey theme) or the filmmakers (Gunn posted on Twitter a video of the orchestra recording the Dad cue from GOTG 2), but never something from Marvel itself.

I dunno, maybe Marvel forbade the orchestra to post on social media they were recording the Avengers, because blah blah blah secrets yada yada spoilers... But, it's pretty sad. I would love a video of Silvestri conducting the Avengers theme with the LSO.

DAKoftheOTA
08-03-2019, 03:16 AM
As would I. I also had a thought that it was most likely individual contracted musicians who performed IW. That happens all the time. Take Man of Steel and Jurassic Park, for example. HZ usually uses The Hollywood Studio Symphony (and sometimes the LSO or even The London Session Orchestra [who did Iron Man and several MCU films, btw]), while John Williams usually uses the LSO, but sometimes the HSS. Can’t find any info on either. I’ve come to the conclusion both scores were performed by contracted musicians and not a full orchestra.

Josivaldo
08-03-2019, 03:49 AM
Yeah, Infinity War was most likely a studio orchestra made of musicians individually contracted, like most MCU scores. Since Silvestri was busy with Ready Player One, he couldn't conduct the score, so they had to use a studio orchestra. For the first one and Endgame, he was more available for conducting, so they used the LSO.

I have updated the set with the final 3 tracks from the film: It's Been A Long, Long Time, End Credits, pt. I & Make Way for Tomorrow Today (End Credits, pt. II).
It's Been A Long, Long Time has SFX when the car drives by at the beginning of the cue, it was in all channels. Maybe the version from TWS can be used in place where there's SFX, not sure. The tracks all flow into each other so they play one right after the other. These 3 tracks have been included in the main archive, located on page 1.

I also changed "Where Are They?" to The Garden and "The One" to Inevitable

There is a video in the making of Doctor Strange about Michael Giacchino in the bluray, maybe 10 minutes. We can see him conducted the orchestra, and an interview.

So DAK was just given a three-week ban by our beloved admin for simply asking if anyone had a score owned by Fox. Simple mistake, simple fix: ban the guy, obviously. *sigh*

Hence my sharing the new link here for you all of his updated version of the album, now that the BR has come out:

https://mega.nz/#!XlFREALQ!I2WNQpopx55wc3ji7WRgbGAWB31Odpp5raJEQwXLumk

Some of the source cues and clean score have been ripped from the BR, and DAK and I decided on a couple new cue names for some of the tracks that better represent the scenes they score. Obviously all source cues are film edits.

List of updates:

"Dear Mr Fantasy" opening with the thunderclap.
Captain Marvel's appearance added to the end of "Dream About You".
"Where Are They?" renamed to "The Garden".
"Becoming Whole Again" renamed to "Five Years Later".
"Perfectly Not Confusing" split into the three original cues that it was comprised of: "Perfectly Not Confusing", "He Made It For You", & "Don't Say That Name".
"Supersonic Rocket Ship" (Source Cue), placed chronologically.
"Come and Get Your Love" Source Cue, including Chris Pratt's solo).
"The One" renamed "Inevitable" (I prefer "The One", personally).
"It's Been a Long, Long Time" (Source Cue)
"End Credits pt. I" (Main On Ends + Credits Suite)
"Make Way For Tomorrow Today" (End Credits pt. II)
