The Strange Love of Martha Ivers is an American film noir drama directed by Lewis Milestone and an uncredited Byron Haskin. It stars Barbara Stanwyck, Van Heflin, Lizabeth Scott and features Kirk Douglas in his film debut.

It has all the ingredients of a classic noir film: drama, suspense, plot twists, and of course, a fantastic cast.

Nominated for an Academy Award for Best Writing, Original Story by John Patrick and entered into the 1947 Cannes Film Festival.

In 1974, the movie entered the public domain in the United States because the claimants did not renew its copyright registration in the 28th year after publication, resulting in the release of many poor quality copies. Fortunately, I’ve got a good video of it.
