A brilliant opera composer, Erich Wolfgang Korngold participated in creating at least 20 film scores, seven of which are represented here, with an average of about six minutes of highlights from each.

This is a reissue from the master tapes for a 1962 Warner Bros. Records LP made only about four years after Erich Korngold�s death. It was produced under his son�s supervision and conducted by Lionel Newman, using the original orchestrations by Korngold himself, Hugo Friedhofer, Ray Heindorf and others.

In this recording the Graunke Orchestra is playing.It is known that Newman at the end of the recording session was totally exhausted.
So Kurt Graunke, the "normal" conductor and founder of the orchestra, conducted the Robin Hood -Suite.This is also the best played item of this disc,
