The Third Man is a British film noir set in post�World War II Vienna. It is directed by Carol Reed, written by Graham Greene, and stared by Joseph Cotten, Alida Valli, Orson Welles, and Trevor Howard.

In 1999, the British Film Institute chose The Third Man the greatest British film of all time and in 2017 a poll of 150 actors, directors, writers, producers and critics for Time Out magazine it was voted as the second best British film ever.

A remastered edition released by Soundtrack Factory in 2017, this album presents Karas� 1949 Decca studio recordings of music from the movie, tracks containing narration, dialogue and ambient sound along with a performance of the celebrated theme by Karas at London�s Empress Club and the music from the movie�s original trailer.

As a bonus, six readings of the main theme by star performers such as Chet Atkins, Earl Bostic, Guy Lombardo, and Jonah Jones have been added, among them a rare vocal version.

Not being a purely musical album, I�d say it�s more of a collector's item than for music listening pleasure.
