Can someone tell me how to pronounce all the names in FF7 FF8 and FF9, I cant pronunce most of them :D

well I have probs with most of the names in FF7 through tp FF9

Here is how I say them...

FF7:

Cloud - Like a cloud in the sky...

Tifa - Te - Fa...

Aeris - A - rees...

Barret - Ba - Ret...

Cid - Sid...

Red - Just red, like the colour...

Yuffie - Yuf - ee.

Vincent - Like the name...Vincent...

Cait Sith - I'm not sure, I say Kate Sith...

Sephirtoh - Sef - i -rof...


FF9

Zidane - Zid - ayne...

ViVi - Ve - Ve...

Steiner - Stine - er...

Garnet - Garr - net...

Quina - Que - na...

Freya - Fray - a...

Eiko - Ey - Ko...

Amarant - Am - a - rant...

its pronounced Ri (like the ri in "ride")- no (just "no")- a (like "duuu")

Aeris - EY (writes with "hey") - rihss First time I played I thought it was pronounced "Iris," which really would have been appropriate since she's the Flower Girl.)

Tifa - TEE - fuh

Barret - like the name Barret

Cait Sith - Kate Sith

Sephiroth - SEFF - ih - rawth. I cringe whenever I hear the chorus in OWA call him "Sephy-roth." Almost makes me glad I have the PC version... almost.

FF8:

Squall - like the word "Squall". What's up with these "Weather elements" characters? Cloud, Squall...

Quistis Trepe - QUIS-tis Truh-PAY. For a while I was pronouncing her last name like it rhymes with "tape." I'm still not sure.

Rinoa - Am I the only person who says "Rih-NO-uh?" Short i, not long?

Edea - ee-DEY-uh, like the spanish word "idea."

Ultimecia - don't even get me started. I say "Ult-ih-MEE-cee-uh", "Ult-uh-muh-SEE-uh," or "Ult-uh-meh-CHEE-uh" depending on whichever pops into my head first. (third pronounciation is Italian. I know that's probably not how it's pronounced in the game; it's the Italian part of my family's fault that I say it like that).

Seifer - I've been trying to get myself to say it "Cypher" but I can't quite break the habit of pronouncing it "Safer." "I before E" pronounciation rules, ya know?

Haven't played FFIX yet. Any other weird names I'm forgetting?

Yuffie---> Yuh-fee (Not You-fee)

Zell---> Like Cell
Quitis---> Kwiss-tiss
Rinoa---> Rih-noah (Me too Fujin)
Edea---> Ee-dee-uh
Ultimecia---> Ull-tih-mee-sha

IX:
Zidane---> Zih-dane
Steiner---> Stine-ah
Vivi---> Vih-vee
Garnet---> Gar-knit
Freya---> Frey-uh

these are all done in the same way as dictionaries. if u cant understand it, look in the front few pages of a dictionary.

Just change there names to simple names like

Fred
John
Bill
Sally
Misty
etc
etc

then you don't have to worry about it :)

this guy i know changed all the names in FF9 to

Zidane: Peter
Vivi: Tony
Freya: Mullet
Dagger: Boobs
etc.
