Hey everybody!

For those of you interested in contemporary classical concert music, I thought I'd just mention that I've started a blog featuring downloadable recordings of compositions I've personally grabbed from internet broadcasts, as well as links to online scores of those pieces (where available). The vast majority of these works do not have commercial recordings, so this might be the only place you can hear them. And although posting recordings of public broadcasts isn't illegal, who knows how long the rights owners will let them stay up, so drop in and get them while you can!

I've got a lot more to add, so check in from time to time for new pieces. Enjoy!

Many thanks for this extremely generous and interesting offering. What is the sound quality of the recordings and are they mostly broadcasts?

I'm happy to share all this great music!

They're almost all taken from internet radio broadcasts - BBC, WDR, KUSC, WQXR, etc. Where possible I grabbed the stream directly and, using Audacity, edited the piece directly, but a lot of the streams (such as the BBC) are protected, so I recorded them with AudioHijack or similar software. In a lot of cases the original files are unedited so there might be a minute or more of intro or dead air before the music begins and ends - tbh I have so many of these files I just didn't feel like going through and tweaking every single one!

Though most of these are 256K MP3s, the quality is entirely dependent on the original audio. Newer broadcasts are generally in much better sound and broadcast at higher bitrates; as they go back the quality can be more questionable, unfortunately.
