This amazing cover was made by DaUpp, Thank You so much for making this! :) Please give rep to DaUpp, like the other cover from my first Renegade Edit, it is simple, yet still effective and unique. Also, click on the cover if you want to download it.
Hey there fellow shriners, I know it's been a looooooonnnnnnnggg while since I shared anything, I've been busy with some stuff in my life. But now I'm back, and what's even better, I finally finished my third Renegade Edit that has been a burden to me all this time and now I'm ready to share it with you all. I'm proud to present you all The 3 Disc Renegade Edit of Breakdown by one of my favorite composers, Basil Poledouris (Conan, Robocop, Starship Troopers, just to name a few).
.
There is a lot to cover about this score, so lets breakdown... well... Breakdown.
The Making Of The Score:
Poledouris had (at first) written and composed a score that contained all of the components that are in all of his scores, grand, colorful, experimental, catchy, heroic some times, and overall engaging. However, director Jonathan Mostow (Terminator 3) wanted a more atmospheric approach to the score. So Poledouris was given a chance to composed another score, with the help of other contributing artists such as Richard Marvin, Steve Forman, Judd Miller, and Eric Colvin. So after countless tries of getting the score right, the final results was just what the director wanted, atmospheric and engaging. Although the film was a success, there was never an album released.
The Bootleg:
Bask in 2001, a bootleg had surfaced, containing both the Final and Unused score of the film, both having some decent sound quality. I managed to find one on ebay for a fairly reasonable price (it wasn't exactly cheap) and was able to rip the CDs into FLAC format, using EAC like usual. I'll post a separate link for you all to listen to (at your own risk of course), lol.
The La La Land Release:
In 2011, After years and years of fans demanding an official release, La La Land Records had finally be given the rights to remaster and release the score of Breakdown, containing a swopping three discs, the first containing the Final Film Score, the second containing the Unused Score, and the third containing Additional Alternate Material.
The Issues:
The Sound was fine, and the material presented to us was amazing... but the structure and overal presentation was... kind of odd.
1. They combined too many tracks that didn't need to be combined in the first place, to the point where they even cut out a few seconds of music that was needed for the original track.
2. Some of the tracks sounded nothing like what was heard in the film.
3. It was not in the chronological order I wanted the score to be presented as.
And
4. I felt like the third CD should've been more than just Additional Material.
The Renegade Edit:
My version fixes those issues (for the most part) by combining some of the material from the bootleg to separate the tracks and restore the original flow of the film score. I also used EQ to adjust parts I felt lacked the emotion and depth, and also created an album styled version for third disc (just highlights from the score). It even contains one of the songs from the film, Burgers And Fries by Charley Pride, while still containing some of the Additional Material. I tried to find the songs by Robbyn Kirmss, but I had no luck. If someone could find those songs and share them with us (even if it is in crappy mp3), I would greatly appreciated.

If nothing happens, then let me know, lol.
Also, if you have any suggestions for any future projects, I would love to hear them. Until then, enjoy this Edit.
