Thanks very much for this! It was a recording that I very much wasn't sure whether I wanted to buy or just stick with the 3 versions I already have. And I still don't know. On one hand, this definitely sounds better than any version of The Mummy so far. I know this soundtrack as well as I know the back of my hand and suddenly there are new instruments and notes in familiar cuts that I've never heard before, and new cuts!!. For the most part, it sounds just splendid. On the other hand, there are bits as when the music reaches fever-pitches where it all becomes a little muddy/crackly. I don't know if the actual cds share that same effect now and then. Track 1, Imhotep 33 sec to 1:03 has that noise, and the Intrada site's sample clip has it, too. I don't know if I want to take a chance that this isn't part of the actual cds. Gawrg!

I think my best course of action before buying is to wait and see if SonicAdventure has anything to say about this recording, if he approves of it or if he doesn't, if it can be tweaked.

In the meantime, thanks again. Occasional muddiness on what seems the actual original source notwithstanding, this is a terrific share and a must-have for any Goldsmith fan. Gonna press the rep button now. Your time and effort is much appreciated. All the best!!
