Dumb question but: how do I delete the extension while not corrupting the files in the process? It seems to not work for extraction after I do it >_>

Because you're not giving me much to work with, I'll go with the assumption you're using Windows as an OS.
So, if it's not already the case, you need to be able to "see" files extension, something not originally offered.
You can do that easily : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxIIskKmUQA (search for Windows 10 if you don't have 7).

Afterward, you will get "7z.00X" files, numbered and all.
That's 7zip partitioned archives.
Just install 7zip on your computer, and you'll be able to extract them accordingly,
via 7zip itself or by attributing at least the ".001" extension to the program itself (via right click + "open with...").

If not, maybe your downloads didn't finish completely, or the password typed isn't the good one... Can't be anything else =]
