This is one weird compilation, with the main focus on Hans J. Salter's score for the TV show WICHITA TOWN
in its original 1959 recording (in rather great sound, since it was recorded in Germany!). Then there are
two "newly" recorded selections: "We'll Be Back" from Bruce Broughton's SILVERADO and Dimitri Tiomkin's
A PRESIDENT'S COUNTRY, which is essentially a suite of movie themes from "Giant", "Red River", "The Alamo",
"Duel in the Sun", "High Noon" and "Rawhide". So far, so western. But then the album ends with three selections
from Robert Farnon's CAPTAIN HORATIO HORNBLOWER R.N. - an abridged version of the concert suite Farnon
recorded for the 1960 Citadel release.

The FLAC version includes the 12-page booklet with extensive liner notes by Tony Thomas.

I own this and highly recommend all of it! The real gem, of course, is the Farnon Hornblower suite. He recorded a version of this for Reference Records but that plays slow when compared with this exciting performance.
