I was just wondering if anyone here on the shrine played this fantastic game and whether or not they would be open to playing together sometime. My character name is Lucy Fir and I'm willing to party with almost anyone.

I'm about to install it actually. I'll post my character name after I get started.

EDIT: Velcodo Scivaut: Elementalist/Monk. Of course, if I decide I don't like the template, I'll do it over again.

I need to talk to someone about Guild Wars! The game is hands down the prettiest mmorpg I've ever seen, but nothing about the gameplay is grabbing me.

It's not even a real MMORPG. It's actually more like Diablo than anything else.

I think the instanced areas are a mixed blessing, on one hand you dont have to worry about spawn campers and getting slayed by high level jerks, but on the other it really makes it feel rather small when compared to other MMORPGs since there arent other people running about. I still belive that it is a great game. i just wished it felt a little bigger and there was somewhere seperate to go for trading, I'm sick of seeing "WTS dyes! all 100, silver and black 200! CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP!" everytime I log on.

Yeah, the game is diveded in tons of zones, thus minimizing the number of people you can truly play with together to a much lower number then you would in any MMORPG.

I've played, the game does look increadible nice (btw you know it runs on the WoW engine? Fun fact for all those die hard WoW gamers amongst us). But I couldn't get into the game, the gameplay wasn't appealing at all.

My bro plays it, i dont. It does look great but 1 thing i have seen in this game that annoys me is all the invisable walls. u cant jump of cliffs. u have 2 run all the way around to find the path that leads only a few metres down:( But apart from that it looks fantastic with stunning graphics and stuff. Although i dont play it because i have been trapeed by World of Warcraft and still cant escape it.(lvl 46 woo hoo!)

Guild Wars really wasn't meant to replace any MMORPG. The gameplay is pretty much straight and to the point rather than having to grind level your way to surpremecy. This is meant for those who would want to play someone different but more of a side thing rather than full fledge. There is no crafting or skill leveling or even rare item searching. This is basically all about skill (though I use that word very loosely) rather than having the most hours logged and being a level 75 Dark Knight that can tear anything into pieces.

Got the game, love it, cant stop playing it. I do prefer Star Wars Galaxies to it though. Oh, and my character is Axl Bane R/E14, and I'm on the European server.
