Apologies in advance if this isn't the preferred thread to post something like this, but I'm an Avast user and have been getting blocked to ffshrine due to malware detected on this site, according to their definitions that is. I put the site through quttera.com and it also flagged the site. Files used to determine this reported the following domains, maybe it could prove useful?

perso.wanadoo.fr
www.freewebs.com

Not sure if there is anything I could do to help, but I figured someone should know.

I am also having this issue since about a week ago. I don't know if Avast is just more sensitive since I updated it or what is going on. A message comes up saying it is blocking a harmful html script that is running on this site, whatever that means?

I'm also having this issue (on AVG).

The site had this issue a few months back. Someone forced malware into the code and it appears they've done it again. Only difference is this time my Avast is detecting a threat which didn't happen last time. My adblocker handled any problems before. This appears to be a more aggresive.

I use uBlock Origin to block pop-ups and it works perfectly. And yes, I've been getting alerts from Avast since about a week ago.

Yes, the Bitcoin mining JavaScript popups are back. Seems the admins fixed this before, so they should be able to de-inject the forum again.

I'm having this issue as well. I wish whatever hacker is doing this would just leave the shrine alone!!!!

I keep getting:

"Download blocked
Web address: http://deloton.com..."

From KIS.

Please look into this malware and remove it. I cherish ffshrine too much to see it go down a terrible path. :(

Yeah. I keep getting it too. It's a wicked virus. Thank God I'm protected.

I use AdGuard and Symantec Endpoint Protection. Never encountered this issue before.

It keeps popping up constantly but at least it's getting always blocked by KIS.

Hope it gets sorted soon.

I tried browsing ffshrine yesterday on my Android and it just kept on getting windows opened left and right. Definitely not safe to use.

I do have KIS on my Android but it seems it's not blocking as it is on my Windows.

unless root android apps not permission to interfere other apps at all, so KIS not effect like Windows (no permission to block brower item)

I suppose if I used Brave then the popus would be blocked but my main is Chrome. And besides, this is an issue that needs to be solved by ffshrine's staff rather than just be blocked by users.

It’s still lingering, even today. Are the admins even aware of this?

If anyone knows how to contact them, could they please forward this message, as I don’t want to spend any more time on this site than I need to right now:

To the Final Fantasy Shrine Forum Team.

If you’re reading this, then you must be aware that your website is infected with some form of malware that causes presumably malicious pop ups to occur whenever someone clicks anything/anywhere on any page.

I want to keep using this site, but at the moment I don’t feel safe doing so. Please do something to fix this. I don’t even know how safe I am just posting this message alone.
I don’t care if this message is not 100% well written, but I wanted to get the point across in the most blunt way possible.

If you contact me via PM in regards to this, know that I won’t respond until I have proof that it is safe to do so.

Do whatever you must to resolve this issue, close down the site until it is fixed if you must.

Regards DaveMan1000

Something I just noticed tonight was that the pinned post from an admin named Amanda at the beginning of another page now reads Banned under her name. I'm wondering if the hacker has locked out all the admins which is the reason why we've heard nothing from the folks running this site and the problem persists.

Thank you for that link. It appears Sarah was last online on 02-27-2018 so she definitely knows about the ongoing issue on here, just hasn't talked about it.

I hope this malware is taken care of because I love ffshrine and it would be terrible if all this content worth of years and years disappeared. :(

I'm just adding my voice to ask moderators or admins to PLEASE REMOVE THE MALWARE CODES.

Just trying to post this message has been a frustrating ordeal. PLEASE DO SOMETHING.

Thanks!

Avast! isn't a very good anti-virus anyway, just use Kaspersky instead. I use KIS and it warns me about the malware and blocks it but allows me to access the website freely.

For a few hours today ffshrine wasn't accessible 'cause I assume.. malware.

I thought it was only me! Although it's unpleasant, I'm happy to see I'm not the only one with this issue & it was not something wrong w/ my computer or anything, nor that I wasn't going crazy w/ all these frustrating malware pop-ups! I didn't have any problems before, but now the malware pop-ups are extremely persistent! Just trying to access any page here, post or search is a hassle! So, I want to add my voice here too hoping this problem could be addressed and resolved!

I've been getting this a lot too. Norton blocked at least five attacks as I browsed the site and I got multiple pairs of pop-ups by doing things like clicking links, clicking in a text box to type something, clicking a Spoiler button to reveal text, clicking the Edit Post button, clicking the post button... basically anything related to clicking. This needs to be sorted out stat or else people will abandon the site!

EDIT: I just got four pop-ups when I clicked to submit this post. This is a problem.

Since I've managed to find my way here, I might as well add to the noise that I've been consistently encountering the same problem when accessing the main forum page (Using Mozilla Firefox & AVG), with the same message as presented by this user:

This is what Avast had to say when I loaded the site just now.

Otherwise, I can say I've been able to use any other category & sub-category on a daily basis without any security warnings from my browser nor anti-virus protection.
