Years ago my life was changed with the discovery of the collected works of Penderecki and Ligeti. Then came Iannis. At times, the only way I can think to explain this music is the unexpected, random horror underscore of everyday life, the music your body feels as it's sitting in line at the drive-thru or at the gas station or wherever, that slowly building dread culminating to sheer horror as your patience dwindles to bare shreds. I made the decision to play one of these albums while going through the car wash today and I stand by that it was one of the most powerful experiences with music in my adult life. The music basically serves as the musical equivalent of the dread you're feeling at certain times. Just take my advice that sometimes when you're stuck in traffic while listening to this, you start to actually think cars are honking at you but no, that's the manipulative power of Iannis with his horns. There's also some interesting electronic experiments included which are pretty fascinating to listen to from a sound design perspective, like something straight out of an Eraserhead/David Lynch film but predates even that film by decades. I also get the distinct feeling that Joseph Bishara might've been more influenced by Iannis than Penderecki like originally assumed as a lot of Iannis and Joseph's horror techniques sound pretty similar.

Included albums:

24 tracks, TRT: 5:15:46, VBR M4A

Note: this includes MOST of the cues from Iannis' album Electronic Music but I included a few extra missing cues and since the original album was arranged by date, I just dropped the extra cues in their appropriate space. I saw no sense in creating a separate album for them since this is meant to be one of the most comprehensive releases of Iannis' most popular works. Running time of official album is under 5 hours but with the extra cues adds around 30 minutes, bringing it to 5.25 hours.

1 track, TRT: 1:13:57, VBR M4A

Note: the most terrifying car wash music. Album has no track splits, it's one long nightmare with the occasional break. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
