just a simple question , after you get past the midgar zolom
can you go back again and kill him for good, so he dosen't return?
The reason i ask is because i really, really, really hate that worm.
i spent several times trying to kill him only to get creamed by his beta attack.
Eventually i did waste his sorry a**. i was at level 15 when i first faught him, since his beta attack did like 1200 in damage it was only natural that i had to level up my party until they had more then 1200 in HP. So i leveled my party up to 28 or so and then i got my sweet revenge! of course then i saw he was still on the world map, but i managed to get over quickly so i didn't have to fight him again.
That is all then i guess btw i knew you could take a chocobo over the swamp (duh) it's just that he really pissed me off! i just had to kill him ;)
Aside from that stupid worm i'm really am enjoying ff7 since this is the first time i've played it :)

hes not killable, but what i suggest you do is attach an enemy skill materia and let him use his beta attack. once youve learned that you should be able to get through the next little bit of the game a lot easier

I never got that impaled on the tree thing. It was like...hey look a snake lets IMPALE it on a tree instead of killing it normally. Like Spehy had nothing better to do.

Dude would you waste time trying to knock off all it's Hp when you can just implae it? the scene was a sign of sephs increasing power.
and no, you cant destroy M.Zolom for good

He is killable, but not on the level you firstly encounter him on. I do strongly suggest to go into battle with him when you are higher leveled and equiped with the Enemy Skill materia, to get the skill Beta.

Beta is a very good enemy skill along with trine and aqualung defiantly worth getting

what do you mean i can impale it?
i don't think so.
yes i saw that scene, it's funny since i killed him to in some way, maybe there is more then one M.Zolom.
i did aquire the beta skill though i didn't need it that often since my party was kind of strong, but i did use it when i just wanted to end a random battle quickly.

i was gonna do that, but i wanted to beat him so much :D
it was annoying to level up though, it took me a couple of hours.

The midgar zolom is like any other baddy when ur at a very high level.I beat him under 5 min. when my party members were all at the 40's level, and i dont think he can be killed. But gettin his enemy skill BETA as suggested by everyone here is very useful i used the enemy skill materia a lot in the game, but only wit red xiii

Midgar Zolom is one big Muthaf***a at the start, but I defeated him in 2 mins when I returned to fight him, after I got the Highwind. Yet, you get hardly any EXP etc, which is stupid

Beta is one of the most useful skills in FF7 imo.you will cake-walk the game if you can get it early(not that the game is difficult)

whoa....and you could be bothered waiting that long, just so you can kill the Midgar Zolom.....i thought i was cool because i trained 2 lvl 20 in the tunnel with the guards at the end as you jump off the train when u got to destroy the Sector5 reactor.....
I hated that stupid serpent as well. Kicked his ass at lv 29, I think. Beta is very strong. I learned it very early in the game, it's great, made my life easier.
