WHAT IS THIS?
Sapphire is possibly the most well-known shoot-em-up on the NEC PC Engine simply because of the ridiculous sums of money people ask for supposedly new copies on eBay. They're probably fakes. The game itself is a fun vertical shmup with no particularly outstanding features (save for the fake-3D sprites perhaps). The music, on the other hand, is completely awesome. And here it is in all its sci-fi game metal glory.
The audio for this soundtrack was taken from an image of the PC Engine game. While I have moved the music tracks so that they do not have huge gaps at the beginning, I have not done the same with the prologue in an attempt to maintain sync with the game. This only matters if you wish to "insert" my remaster back into the game disc. I cannot assist you with this, please don't ask!
My goal is to present to the community well-mastered Original Sound Version / OST music of the greatest soundtracks video gaming has to offer, with an emphasis on early/mid-90s obscurities and classics. The music already sounded pretty good but it was mastered fairly quietly, had clicks at the start of every track, some noise before and after every track and was generally still rather mid-centric. I have cleaned it up and processed it with sympathetic mastering as always. Enjoy!
