Completists and James Horner purists, beware! This is not what you want. It's a custom edit of a score portions of which I love.

I cannot express how much I despise "ethnic wailing" in film scores. Ever since "Gladiator" most movies with ancient settings were scored with wailing vocal performances. For me this has become the most annoying clich ever established in film scoring.
This release features only the exciting orchestral powerhouses of James Horner's "Troy". By careful editing using cross-fading techniques I removed almost all ethnic wailing from the tracks.

I did that to the OST years ago, and had to use the one day of sessions material to fill in gaps like "Through The Fires, Achilles...and Immortality". Had to replace the entire ending of that cue with session stuff which was hard because of the random skipping and popping sounds.

I did the same because like you, I can't stand the vocals.

Now when I say vocals I only mean Tanja Tsarovska (spelling?) not the choir. The choir didn't bother me.

Exactly what I was thinking, so I also left the choir intact.

BTW I'd like to apologize to Tanja Tzarovska. I think her voice is extraordinary and in a different setting - say, a rock song - I would love her performance.
In the track "Through The Fires, Achilles...and Immortality" I retained approx. 15 seconds of Tanja Tzarovska's vocals (the last 15 seconds which are not as annoying as the rest) It was the only way I could manage to get a clean ending of the CD.

What a great idea! Now if only it was possible to eliminate excessive "shaky cam" and lens flares from recent movies...

If you edited a JJ Abrams movie to remove the lens flares all you'd be left with are the end credits.

Well maybe the production logos at the beginning.

You read my mind (again).

Editing out shaky cam is easy enough but the end product will be cropped and zoomed. The heavier the shaking, the more unusable the end product might turn out to be.

Isn't there a lens flare of sorts in the Bad Robot logo?
EDIT: okay, there isn't. It's looks more like a light trick >>> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7Brd1F1dQc

I just wanted to come back and say thank you so much for this. I cannot stand the wailing woman and with the edits, this sounds fantastic. I greatly appreciate your efforts.
