Nice to hear that! I have an idea for a future subject for a podcast episode: you should check out and discuss the music of Opus Inc. (aka GOBLIN SOUND). They did some amazing music (some of which I've requested from you in the past) and made very unique uses with sound chips (see the work they done on the Arcade version of Calibur 50, for example).

Because the music source files for Bomberman64 are in an... "unprepared" shape, for lack of a better word, it would take a lot of work to do that set, and even then it would be untagged. That's why I've passed on it when previous requests were made. Sorry!

Thanks man. That saved me a lot of headache! Its great that the duology is ripped. I wish I could say the same for Majin Tensei spinoff RONDE. only the SSFs exist to my knowledge and there's no OST.

Also good news. Come June I can give you fully tagged rips of Glory if Heracles on NES, GB AND SNES. Composer credits dropped in new OST box.

First off, thanks! That's a high compliment!

I've found that the NotSoFatso WinAmp plugin produces the best sound for me. I use the wave writer function, and I use a little bit of stereo separation on the square channels to open the feel up a bit without using reverb or post-processing. Then I normalize all the output to -1db and convert from wav to mp3 using the LAME encoder at the highest VBR settings. It took a looong time to get the process down and I've redone a lot of my collection over the years to try and get the quality as even as possible across all the NES songs.

Damn, that sounds complicated! LOL. I'll take your advice and play around but it sounds like I'd best leave it to the pros. Thanks for all your awesome work! Jamming out to Snow Bros right now!

P.S. if you are still redoing your collection I noticed some weird buzzing on Simon's Quest NES (Game Over track for example). I can't figure out what it is, the NSF format is still a mystery to me.

I decided to upgrade my own MEGA to mirror it at least in the next year. I can only do this once however. It would save it for now.

After negotiating I will be taking over curation of the collection for the next year everyone. We MAY have to rework all the links, unless someone can enlighten me on how to keep the links intact in MEGA.

Don't worry about the old links, it's very easy to recreate everything from scratch. Just make sure you have all the files in your account before ruiner's expires. I can help you setting up the new thread when that is done.

One last tip: when you create the new thread, make sure to reserve the first four consecutive posts (check out ruiner's thread for an example). IIRC you have to wait 60 minutes between each post, otherwise the forum software will merge them.

I just shared the links with him today, so all should be set. The account still has at least another week or so before expiration so that should be enough time to get it set up.

The folder is now backed up in my MEGA. All we need is to figure out how to do this. Anyone’s expertise is appreciated. And I already decided there will be annual renewals, whether via donation or my own finances, to prevent this excellent collection from ever disappearing into the ether.

Well, first you need to do these three things:

1. Create a new thread, make sure the title reflects the content. Changing the thread title later is possible but can only be done by a mod.
2. Make sure the first post contains a message in big, red, intimidating letters that says something like this: "Thread creation in progress ... please refrain from posting until I say so."
3. Create at least three more posts that you will later use to store the links. After each new post you have to wait for an hour or so. If you don't do this, the new post will just be added to the previous one and that's not very helpful.

It seems that no matter how long I haven't been visiting this website, at the end of the day if I'm suddenly looking for an OST I always end up here on this awesome topic. Many thanks ruiner9.

OK, since tomorrow is the expiration for the original collection, I will provide you all with an update. My laptop is back at Best Buy, again, with a blue screen issue. In addition, class is ending so I may be without access to a computer for a while, barring the occasional pop onto the house desktop.

So with that in mind, I'd like to open the collection to existing game rip requests on a case-by-case basis. To prevent PM clogging we'll do it with Ruiner's old system of three games at one time. I will also be accepting existing requests via my Discord, which anyone interested can PM to get access to.

Please note these will not be NEW RIPS but what is already there. So if you haven't grabbed it by tomorrow, request it and once my laptop is fixed and I get to your request I will make sure you have access or will send you a link to my MEGA.

Now to the nitty gritty: Once we get to work on the new thread...thank you by the way NX...I would like to make sure that we have a system here in place to keep the collection accessible. Unlike ruiner I cannot create new rips as easily, so until I get a rig set up that can, it will be what exists for now. The new thread is HERE (Thread 227860), and I request a mod to help me with it as well

No you need to physically copy the files to the new account and use those links. The ones from my account will expire when the time runs out on mine.

Doing this piecemeal on a per-request basis will be more work going forward, but in the end that's his call. If the links are changing it would be mostly a matter of creating a new template for the posts and then copy & paste the new links from KusanagiShiro's Mega account. I just did this in 5 minutes for the arcade section:

Yeah, that’s the plan I believe. To have them all out there once it’s set up. All I ever did was highlight all the files in the folder, copy the links from all of them at once, paste them to notepad++ and made a little macro to put the url on the line below the file name. It was easy.

I never figured out macros but the thread is set up. Once my computer is out of the shop (again), we can get this new thread rolling!

I still have a ton of your soundtrack RAR files all over the place (probably 200 of them), so if this collection were to be lost at some point I could still rebuild some of it.
