Even today I remember when it was the first time I discovered Reijiro Koroku's music, it was thanks to a contribution from a fellow member of this forum. I remember thinking: "Wow, this guy knows how to write beautiful music!". Since then I've listened to various soundtracks from this talented composer, and my opinion on him has only gotten better. Reijiro Koroku is one of those veteran composer who knows the craft of writing complex music in different styles.
The album I'm sharing here is the soundtrack for a Radio/Drama show, but believe me that this album is far superior to 90% of recent anime scores. The album was released in 1995, but the production values are extraordinary, whoever put the money to produce this album paid for a good number of studio musicians for playing the music as was intended. Real musicians playing well developed music, with oriental melodies, sax interludes and recurring motifs that give a sense of unity to the soundtrack. This is a very refined album, don't let the obscurity of the Dark Angel franchise put you off, if you give it a listen you won't regret it.
Music with soul and heart, friends, that's what it matters at the end of the day.
Enjoy!
