I am a really big fan of the Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. television show.
I love the music too, sadly there is only a single official album out, one that has music from seasons 1 and 2.
When season 3 came along, there was a certain episode (S03E10 "Maveth") that had an amazing ending and
music to go along with. This is my absolute favorite track from the show. So I waited for a soundtrack release.
Bear McCreary even posted a short snippet from his recording session of the track on YouTube, which I
listened to over and over again. McCreary even titled the track on his post about it on his website, he called it
'Crossing Into Darkness". There were some YouTube rips available, but they sounded awful, but I still listened,
because I loved the track. Season 4 came along and went, and still nothing. So I decided to take the issue into
my own hands.

You can find more info about this track of McCrearys Website found here:

I got a friend to get me the 5.1 Surround Sound Audio from a good source, and then I began to edit the track
using Audacity. Now this was my first time ever editing audio of any kind, so I was learning as I went through.
I began removing the dialogue and SFX from the track, and removing many other bits and pieces.
I was able to completely remove most of the SFX, except from a certain part that had missile SFX.
These missile SFX could not be removed completely since they were present on all the channels.
I then made 2 versions of it, one where the audio at that point would go mono for a moment, and this
way the SFX at that part would be the least jarring. The other would remain stereo, but the missile SFX
would be louder, since two of the channels were present at that point. So after this I was pretty content
with the track, it sounded really clean up to that point, but I wasn't satisfied. So now about 2 months
later from that point I got an idea, and then researched some Audacity tutorials, and figured out a way
to edit the track in a new way. So I went back to the track and completely removed the part with
the missile SFX. I then "stitched" and merged the track together and cross-faded it. I did the best
to my ability to make sure the transition sounded as smooth as possible. So now I have a slightly
shorter version that is pretty much SFX free. So now I'm sharing it with you all to enjoy. I'm going to
include all 3 versions of the track for you to hear. Oh, I also made the custom cover for this as well,
using a promotional image from season 3, its the one showcased in this post.

I have also done some edits of other tracks from Seasons 2, 3, and 4 (All unreleased tracks as of
now). I did some edits of Ghost Riders theme, some of the general characters such as Quake, and
many others. Now these other tracks aren't too SFX clean. Some have dialogue echos, and other SFX that were
present during those scenes. I didn't spent as much time fixing those as I did "Crossing Into Darkness",
but they still sound relatively good.

These are available on my YouTube channel, which you can check out here:

But for this post I want to showcase my best work, which is the track "Crossing Into Darkness"
from Season 3, Episode 10 "Maveth". The track plays during the climax of the episode, when two
characters are trying to escape from an alien desolate planet, and get back to Earth.

Here are some sneak peaks at the track in Audacity:

This image is from the track without any edits:

This image is of the final edited version with the missile SFX included:

The exported versions are in stereo, 16-bit 48.0kHz Flac files. So I hope you enjoy my work and efforts
in these tracks. I love this track and I am finally 98% content with the results. I am still hoping
for an official release, but if it never happens, at least this is here. So enjoy, and if you want to
checkout more of these edits, go visit my YouTube channel for more.

*Track 3 is my latest version, the one without the Missile SFX, both Versions 1 and 2 have the
missile SFX present.*

I like McCreary a lot although it does sound like he's mostly handed off scoring of the show to his assistants after season 1, with the exception of pivotal scenes which he handles himself. It's nice to hear this cue outside of the episode.

Yeah the best pieces of music from the show are pretty much from the climax of an episode, such as "Crossing Into Darkness". I consider that the best piece of music from the entire show.
