I believe it's being worked on. During press for the recent La La Land release of Beverly Hills Cop, Faltermeyer apparently mentioned they're working on Top Gun next.

This is a pretty good fan made version of Mighty Wings. Sounds almost the same and is the best we can get until an official release:
