THIS SOUNDTRACK
"Snoopy, Come Home" was the only Peanuts animated project produced during Vince Guaraldi's lifetime (1928–1976) that did not contain a musical score by the noted jazz composer. Guaraldi had composed all the previous Peanuts animated television specials as well as the debut film "A Boy Named Charlie Brown".
Music for this film was instead provided by the Sherman Brothers, who had composed some of the music used in various Disney films and theme park attractions.
Creating a "complete" soundtrack for this film was no easy task since the vinyl record OST is out of print and the online you-tube version (though better sounding) has high distortion, rendering it useless.
Using vocal removal techinques I've used before, I was able to create this version.
Unfortunately the movie soundtrack itself had a number of "codec" squawks and the removal process added a few of it's own artifacts when removing difficult dialogue.
Though not a Guaraldi soundtrack, it does have some memorable tunes.
"Lila's Theme (Do You Remember Me)" sung by Shelby Flint is a tear jerker,
as well as "It Changes" sung by Guy Pohlman.
As a bonus I've included seven different versions of "No Dogs Allowed" sung by the famous Thurl Ravencroft. In case you notice his booming bass voice sounds familiar, you'd be correct. He's also famous for singing "You're A Mean One" on the "Grinch" soundtrack as well as voicing "Tony The Tiger" for Kellogs Frosted Flakes.
So for all of the fans of this film,
Enjoy.
