The Rock (Recording Sessions, FLAC Lossless) - Nick Glennie-Smith, Hans Zimmer and Harry Gregson-Williams (1996)
It has been a long time haven't post something, so here we go. I think it hasn't been released yet (haven't found any thread here). Please tell me if it has been already post here, I'll remove this thread.

Music by Nick Glennie-Smith, Hans Zimmer and Harry Gregson-Williams.
41 tracks+trailer+6 edited tracks (film edits), Quality : FLAC Lossless.

Tracklist :

Those are screenshots.

Edited folder :

PM please.

It comes directly from the RS, I also included the trailer music. I noticed 1 missing insert that we can hear in the film at the end of the San Fransisco chase (I put the .txt file as a marker), but that's all in my opinion.
Note that this is the only version (I know) with the full cues without the bad cuts at the end of each track. You can find another version here, with the cuts but with some demo cues : Thread 198747 and also here http://forums.ffshrine.org/showthread.php?t=192480.
But it's always a pleasure of listening ! And one of my favorite action film, I definitely recommend it :)

Wow - thanks so much! This is indeed one of my favorite scores - maybe the DEFINITIVE remote control action score. I have so many versions of this score, but this one appears to be the most complete. Thank you again for sharing.

On a side note, I am sad to see that yet again we're missing the film ending of the San Francisco chase (the ending phrase of the "Mason Action" theme). Perhaps some day it will surface…

I got it from a trusted source, it's genuine and leaked this way, I think they did the edit after the recordings, taking it from another cue or maybe from an early demo. And the cue number would have been something like 5m16A or so because the next cue is 5m17...

I figured it was a late addition (to score that was already being completed at the last minute!). I haven't heard this particular sting anywhere else in the score, so I always assumed it must have been a quick overlay (possibly a synth sample?).

Either way - thanks so much for this release. Good to know it comes from a legit source.

Thank you very very much. One of the greatest action scores of the 90s...maybe someday we will get official complete remasters of this + Armageddon and a few others...

Thank you for this. Always wanted to make a film edit of it. This insert you speak of - is it taken from another cue anywhere else in the score (so that someone can edit it in) or is it only on the one cue?

After listening to this score for 15+ years, I've never heard the particular brass passage anywhere else in the film. If it's there - it must be buried deep. I'm guessing it was a very last minute addition to the film.

For reference, the insert in question occurs at about 5:00 in this (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBCGkanWm68) clip from the film just as Nic Cage gets the traditional Michael Bay "Camera rotating under the rising hero" shot. It's a heroic rendition of the last phrase of the "Mason (Action)" theme.

Oh it was definitely added in post, no doubt about it. RCP scores are notorious for that. Happens with plenty of other scores as well, but I feel like a good majority of them come from House Zimmer.

I wonder if that part is clean on the Blu-ray.....

Makes me question how you use the search function lol since there's also the one I shared before. Mine has 65 tracks and runs over 3 hours (http://forums.ffshrine.org/showthread.php?t=198747&highlight=). It's sourced from drhousechapatula's (the one Lockdown linked to) and the others I found here. But I'll grab this too, thanks.

Just for clarification: Are the tracks in the Edited tracks folder part of the original Recording Sessions, or are they your work?

In any case, thank you very much for this post!

They came together, but they don't come from the sessions (they haven't been recorded because it is an edit), but that's how they have been edited to fit in the movie actually. Not my work, I'm not good to edit audio, better with video :D
