The best presentation of Angel's & Demons you will ever have.

Preface: As some of you are aware, I produced all of the mainstream "fan-made" film versions for Interstellar. And I produced the Inception Film Mix. All tracks have been reworked from scratch and are not from Dak's original set, all music has been sourced from my own lossless copy of the complete score, and from lossless 5.1 blu ray audio.

This edition of the film mix now includes the WHOLE score, from the extended version of the film, and from deleted scenes. The cross-fades between intersecting tracks/scenes has been approximated down to the wave-form, and in some cases, I have seamlessly used the film audio itself for missing transitions, segments, or important cross-fades. Light SFX on Black Tongue II, and three seconds during Save Camerlengo.

As per Dak's request, all tracks have been mastered for loudness using the commercial release masters as a template.

Gigantic is an understatement. This was long before I ever thought/realized that almost every cue in every score is different. Be it a missing insert of lack of strings, mine was way off.

I listened my favorite track that is "God Save Us" and it is different than other versions (ost, complete) the violin in it is completely different and beautiful. I really dont know why they release different versions of tracks for OSTs and even complete versions... Just use the film mixes, right? :)

My favorite cue is 6m38 God Save Us, one of Zimmer's most beautifully epic pieces ever. I'm glad it's on the OST as well, although in suite form. But the best parts of it made it on there :)

Well it was 7 years ago when Zimmer's releases were still suite form only. He's gotten better over the years, though. MoS and INTS were pretty solid releases.

True. I just remember really hating the release for POTC 4. Felt so uninspired, but that's not even my feelings about the film score in general. Just how they put it together. Also same for TDKR.

But yeah, I'm amazed that they didn't mangle the official version of Coward. That eight minutes and thirty-three seconds needed to stay intact.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but I just updated those three tracks again just now. There was an issue with the crossfade between 3m15, 3m16a.

That transition will sound absolutely seamless now.

I just read this, simply because I didn't think that an improved film mix was necessary. I therefore ignored this thread when it opened.

I will not dwell on the de-noising too much. First, I didn't de-noise every track. Secondly, I removed noise caused by the synthesizers. This noise is - by principle - not affecting the room noise you talk about as it occupies high frequencies instead of low frequencies where room noise can be found. I will not dwell on the de-noising too much. First, I didn't de-noise every track. Secondly, I removed noise caused by the synthesizers. This noise is - by principle - not affecting the room noise you talk about as it occupies high frequencies instead of low frequencies where room noise can be found. The first problem with your critique is that there is inexplicably no use of simple "dynamic compression". I effectively use the same saturation / limiting routines that award winning mixing engineers use to increase perceived volume. Frankly it is something that I usually refrain from applying to my own projects, but in this case it was requested specifically by Dak. Addressing the artifacts specifically: some artifacts are created by sound effect removal / warping / pitch changes, etc. in some cases it is unavoidable - depending on the degree of change being required. I can mitigate them pretty effectively. Most self-created artifacts have been found and corrected in the updates to the project by now, there's two or three places in the score that had extreme distortion and clipping out of the box, it was mixed and recorded that way.

I have studied Myerson's actual mixing and recording style and sound for a very long time, and I've respected it in this project in more ways than just changing the perceived"volume" of some of the tracks. I'm talking about the space and ambiance in the mix, the "rawness" and layering of his recordings, the surround / stereo imaging, the ways and directions that he pans specific types of sounds and instruments. The infinite well of knowledge of his work on RCP scores that I have gathered over time has been effectively applied in each and every track where I have had to recreate and seamlessly mix in missing stems / synths / effects, whatever was demanded.

I'm positive we have fundamental differences in the way we prefer things to sound, so I'm not going to derail the thread further.
