(That be a great title of the next game, wouldn't it?)

I love Kain. He is my #1 favorite character ever. He's badass beyond badass. He conquered a world, slaughered thousands, was, in the end, always one step ahead. I could list trait after trait to display how unbelievably awesome he is, but you must play Blood Omen or Defiance to truly understand. Play them!

Oh yeah! Well, Raziel will rip his heart out again...if he comes back to life. Or the little skull on the Soul Reaver will turn to Raziel's head!!

Um, no, cos Raziel is stuck in the Soul Reaver again. And he and Kain have resolved their differences.

Now it's Kain vs. The Hylden and the Elder God.

Okay, sorry. The next game should rock though, i can't wait. It's just Raziel was my favourite character and i'm desperate for him to come back

I can't tell you how happy I was when Raziel died. Ever since I played Soul Reaver, I hated that guy. True, he became cooler in SR2, but I still never liked him and when he totally became a tool by killing Kain just made me dislike him even more.

Hail Kain!

No, not Hail Kain! I really thought Raziel was stupid in SR and SR2 but when he jumped and pulled the heart out i was like OMG he's cool because he hurt Kain!!

EDIT: I also hated Raziel when i had to do Vorador's Mansion...

Hail the Elder Vampire!

I'm wondering how the Soul Reaver is going to become all evil again. Defiance takes place before Blood Omen, thus, the Purified Soul Reaver you get at the end has to change into an evil blade.

Well, the game did just happen to be about Kain trying to change the past and defy destiny. That being the case, there's no reason to think Raziel's spirit is going to go mad at all.

And Odin, he probably won't even bother with the Hylden, seeing how he kicks their asses in Blood Omen 2 anyway.

You forget, Blood Omen 2 happens way later. Of course, we now know what happened. Raziel was a dumbass and revived Janos, giving the Hylden Lord a host and allowing Janos to power the Device. Thanks, Raziel.

But, it has to. The Soul Reaver has to fall out of Kain's possession and be taken to Avernus. That is the only way things will add up.

But the whole point of Kain's quest is to make sure things don't add up...

I think that the paradox that Kain is liable to introduce next will produce an "all hell breaks loose, more than before" scenario.

And, lest we forget, Kain can also traverse Time with Moebius's Time Streaming chambers. And this time around Kain is no longer half-mad from the curse he originally had put on him when Vorador assassinated Ariel and Nupraptor went insane, infecting all of the Guardians at the same time. Remember that Raziel's final actions included the removal of that handicap and the granting of a heightened sight, the ability to see the spectral forms that manifest in the physical realm.

I think the next game, if there is to be one, will be a showdown in the Hylden world, culminating with a far better and more satisfying confrontation with the Elder God.

Well, the fight itself might have been kind of lame, but Kain's "burrow deep" line and his ruminations afterward made up for it, IMO.

I wonder what the thing looks like... Beats me how it came into existence in the first place.

Kain might've been limited in Blood Omen 1 and 2 by his arrogance and his sanity was certainly in question. However, I enjoyed him that way. "Slash, slash, drink, drink. Kill! Kill! And! don't forget to laugh!"

The fight itself wasn't so much lame as the fact that the camera work made it much more painful than it had to be. That, plus the fact that it wasn't near as satisfying and burying the Soul Reaver into the Elder God's eye at the end and absorbing him would've been.

Good point about the camera. I'm perfectly happy with the ending though, aside from the lack of news about another sequel.
