You guys know that figure of speech "jack of all trades, master of none", right?
Which would you prefer to be? A well-rounded Renaissance Man, or somehow who has a very deep grasp on a narrow range of subjects?
With Google literally almost any information in the world is at our fingertips; we can learn more in an hour than our ancestors could in a day. But at the same time you're just becoming a trivia buff who doesn't have a preference of discipline.
You only get one life, and the clock is always ticking - on your deathbed do you want to be able to say that you knew a lot, or that you knew relatively little except for one subject in which you excelled? Which mode of life is on the whole better?
