Jeff Kinney is a genius. He spends like a week each year writing and drawing the book, and then spends the other 51 weeks raking in the cash.

And I was never disappointed by any one of the books, they're all good.

I dare say we would really have to exhuast all natural resources to create suffiicent biodomes to live in.
Anyone who dares leave the vicinity risks their health by prolonged exposure to the astmophere of the planet that will eventually adapt to the oceans of urine.
The air would become toxic.
Plants will change.

Pure air will actually become a currency.

Maintenance of filtering machines, airflow and literally everything to preserve a sustainable way of life will cost more than anyone can afford.

Cost of living will go up.
People will get exhiled to preserve the lives of others.
Pregnancy risks will escalate and there will have to be very strict and scrutinizing protocols to control procreation.
A new life within the biodome must be able to contribute later in life.
Or face exhile.
Enegineers will surely have a place with scientists and botanists.

Mutants will be born for those outside the biodomes and find caves to live in to shield themselves the earth's toxic atsmophere.

One could risk their life to explore the urforic seas for anything to research in piss-proof submersables.
That's one way to contribute to the biodome if you want your family to have a safe living space in the outskirts of the dome.
They won't be allowed to dine or enjoy the same entertainment as wealthy scholars and top-tier contributors like engineers and scientists.

Turn over rate for living in the slums is extremely high as people are getting exhiled every week due to low success rates of contribution on dead end research excursions and other low paying jobs.
Those who are able to live in caves and pass tests that have something to contribute are allowed vacancy within the dome for a limited time until their use runs out.

Sooner or later, no matter how much research and development discovers, it won't matter since the exhiled will eventually rebel and turn the world into a warring planet more than a scientific opportunity.
