HIJACK cue from Hans Zimmer/Klaus Badelt's MI2 score:

DRIVE TO GARY'S cue from Don Davis' Antitrust score:

The Drive to Gary's cue is called Drive to NURV Headquarters on the complete score, and you can get it here (
Thread 191915) from AberZombie.
The intro is longer there and you can hear the similarities much more clearly there :)

Surely this isn't the first occurrence of similarity between two or more cues.
For instance, here, a cue from Call of Duty 2 (
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ilSH1bDat_U) bears an exact resemblance of the first couple notes of a cue from Enemy at the Gates (
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGeYcXcTuU8).
Just thought I'd bring this to attention. :p

Zimmer copies people, people copy Zimmer. It happens.
Listen to "Mass VS Acceleration" from Drive Angry and then listen to "Mombasa" from Inception.

Finally someone with a worthy contribution (and Clonemaster). Thanks, I will! :)

I posted about something similar a while ago. Nobody really cares about this sort of thing :/
Neil Davidge/Kazuma Jinnouchi (I've been told by Neil himself it was Kazuma exclusively) used a section from 6m58 Titus Summons Kingsmen in the track "Mantis".
TOP: Titus (1999)
BOTTOM: Hao 4 (2012)
As you can see, it was just copied and pasted. Even sounds the EXACT SAME.

The entire track "Mantis" samples all of the 6m58 cue.

It must be nice to be paid for using someone else's work.

Don't know if it applies in these particular examples but this might shed some light. You have to let it go a little while before you get to the part that ties it together, but it's worth it.

I don't like the way that video addresses the issue of the lack of strong Marvel themes. It just makes a big deal about temp-tracks.
The composers for the Marvel films have made some great themes along the way - but for whatever reason, the producers are scared to bring those themes back. It's not the music that's the problem, or even the temp-tracks - it's the spinelessness of the producers to dare to create musical cohesiveness.

I think they basically did touch on that though. Did you miss the part where they pointed out some of the themes are good but aren't allowed to shine, and gave the Captain America example?

I haven't seen the vid in a couple weeks, but I remember taking away more about temp tracks than I did of Marvel film music itself.

About half of it discusses the temp tracks (which are potentially relevant to this topic). The other half is specifically talking about how the music is implemented. I'd say it deserves a rewatch.
