Second of all, how can you seriously be affected this much over me saying you're impatient. I seriously only said an adjective. I didn't insult you that harsh. I could've said something worse than that! Come on, dude. Get yourself together. I supose you are not okay, are weak, whatever. But still. You gotta fix up.

You see, this dude, when interested in VGM music album compilations that are OBVIOUSLY gonna get released in this forum eventually, starts new threads on them, and constantly used to write on the topics to remind people about it, asking and asking..
Vegeta, as always, is ripping the album; but he hasn't yet because the artist tags weren't available yet. They are now, and this dude reminded it to Vegeta in hopes of getting the score. All I replied to him was, "Impatient surely defines you." and he replied, saying I'm a scumbag and there's a special place in hell for people like me. :P
I really don't get all this fuss over me saying he's impatient. It's not even an insult. I could've said worse, or any other person, and he is affected over this? You got some depression problem, or you're weak.. some kind of illness or whatever? I can get it then but still, all this fuss is just not normal.

I've known many people in my life who can't handle criticism, but I've never known this to be an underlying cause of people legitimately feeling they are failures at life. Granted, it's possible OP is just being dramatic, but for all I know maybe he or she really is feeling that way and doesn't know how to express it except to make a post on a message board somewhere. I figure asking can't hurt.

I object to this gif. I don't know enough about native American worldviews to say how accurate it is, but I think that the kind of vaguely pantheistic philosophy Pocahontas is supposed to be espousing in the movie means the gif conveys precisely the opposite of what it intends to. To her, all the space around her, everything she's referring to by this gesture, is as real as everything else, and full of life. She's essentially saying she cares as much as humanly possible. Which is a nice sentiment, actually. I changed my mind, I like the gif. It has the added bonus that I can now use it and feel sophisticated because no one will know what I mean except people who read this post.

As I think Pocahontas would point out, every atom of the meteor was teeming with the essential, playful life force at the heart of the universe. It's true there was no intention behind it. It simply was intention.

If you want to get all scientific about it, there is no such thing as inert matter. Physics proved this decades ago. What you perceive as a lifeless, inert rock is in fact teeming with activity, moving so rapidly you can't even perceive it which is the only reason you think it's inactive.

Motion at the atomic and subatomic level is not the same thing as life. It's just activity. A corpse has processes going on within it, but it's not alive. Life is acting on the environment around you. Motion is not the same thing as action.

My cats have never conducted symphonies or written books, though I suppose I can't say for certain they haven't tweeted. Who knows what those little rascals get up to when I'm out. But surely they'd fit your definition of being alive.
This is why people so painfully agonize over the "origin of life" when they adopt this cold compartmentalized view of reality. One day there were a bunch of inert things and then some lightning struck and zapped intention into one of them, like a primordial microscopic Frankenstein monster. Put that way your story sounds far more absurd than mine. Mine is that the intention was always there. Everything's so screaming with intention that it couldn't help but evolve into conscious beings.
"If they remain silent, even the very stones will cry out."
Killgrave
10-02-2016, 05:16 PM
Stones don't cry. They're inert matter. Life started out as a pool of amino acids but life evolved from that point.
A stone remains a stone. It does not evolve. Erodes, changes in mass and shape, but does not progress forward.
Cats - I have 2.5 of them - are the very opposite of inert. Except during afternoon nap time. Then they turn into rocks.

False equivalency.
Sloth and humans are not an equivalent comparison.
Also, the activity level of sloths is not the barometer for success. Instead, it's how well they fill their ecological niche and they do so very well, otherwise they would have gone extinct.
So, sloths don't suck at life. They excel at it.
