Excellent share but a bummer already is that the "Mom Checks on Ferris" cue is missing a layer from 0:15-0:30 therefore making it incomplete. :( LaLaLand and Intrada have a way of getting things 90% right but they tend to mess at least one cue up on every release. Typically the cue I want most.

For the record I'm really glad they included the marching band overlay and understand the rights issues would have been impossible to overcome for this release, it simply isn't the 80's anymore. I'm betting it'll be really easy to "roll your own" given the original recording and the overlay, maybe even make one that sounds better than what they could do with the sources they were provided 30 years ago. I'm going to attempt it using the 24 bit stereo remaster of the song, and the mono remaster of the song as well. (If I recall correctly that would be true to how it was in the film. Marching band overdub on the mono track)

What layer is missing. Isn't that the section where they overlaid Rooney's voice etc? Not a part of the music.

Turns out syncing up the marching track to either of the latest remasters of Twist and Shout is very difficult… I'm guessing due to tape drag in the transfer they played to/synced for film use. Which I'm guessing probably came from Capitol! 10th generation copies can exhibit those sorts of speed issues. No access to a more fully featured DAC at the moment but I'm betting that it should be easy to get the track locked in time with the overlay. Bands with terrible drummers get their tracks pulled apart and quantized all the time :)

If you're referring to my post about the missing layer, it's the harpsichord (?) layer playing as Mrs. Bueller is walking up to the doorknob. It's totally missing from that section as well as the second section right after we hear Rooney's voice say "Nine times...."
